izzi (isabella_dasilvaa) | 12 comments are the rules to just read the whole month of july and try to follow the prompts or is there more to it?

message 3: by sahrai (new)

sahrai (sarahmirzayee) So yes you read the whole month and you can follow the prompts for more points but you will also be in teams with other people and you have to try and collect the most points as a team by reading more books, hope that helps!

Ali Mae | 60 comments can two people in a team complete the same prompt and do we get exttra points for reading books that fit the prompts?

Yes, two people can complete the same prompt and each prompt you complete for a book counts as one point so if you used 3 prompts for a book that would count as 3 extra points on top of your page points

Lishy (lishy1237) | 40 comments I'm thinking of joining, but do audiobooks count?

message 7: by sahrai (new)

sahrai (sarahmirzayee) Yes, audiobooks count! As long as the physical book has at least 150 pages anything below 150 does not count

Carissa | 13 comments can you use the same prompt multiple times? like for example, I have a TBR pile full of books by authors I've never read before.

Laurel Chandler (laurelchandler) | 2 comments Hi! I've never done this before and I have a question. In the sign-up thread you mentioned "please be active", what did you mean by that? Do I have to update my progress here often or do I have to read a certain amount of books? I'm not a fast reader so I'm a bit hesitant to join, but this looks fun!

Oh oh and do ARCs count? TIA!

That's a great question! It is totally fine if you are a slow reader being active just means that if you sign-up you are obligated to be reading and be in contact with your team members, you can't just sign-up and not read anything. And yes, ARCs are totally allowed as long as they fit our page count rule (150 pg. or over). Hope that helps!

Ali Mae | 60 comments For the prompt 'read a series', would we get a point for every book we read in a series, or one point once we have finished the series?

It would count as one point for every book you read in a series

message 16: by Alla (new)

Alla (allaskarp) | 35 comments Do we use the page count from the edition we read, the top edition that comes up or the edition that has the highest page count?

message 17: by sahrai (new)

sahrai (sarahmirzayee) Both the page count and page points are for the edition that you read

message 18: by Alla (new)

Alla (allaskarp) | 35 comments Thanks :)

Lishy (lishy1237) | 40 comments Hi, this may be a dumb question but for prompt 11 what does "Read a book by a BIPOC author" mean?

message 20: by sahrai (new)

sahrai (sarahmirzayee) Lishy wrote: "Hi, this may be a dumb question but for prompt 11 what does "Read a book by a BIPOC author" mean?"

Haha not dumb at all, basically the prompt is to read a book by an author that is black, indigenous or a person of color, that is what BIPOC stands for. I hope that helps!

 ̷R̷̷e̷̷y̷ (detectingeagle310) | 15 comments Unnecessary question but isn't it 2021 readathon instead of 20201 readathon?

message 22: by sahrai (new)

sahrai (sarahmirzayee) Haha yes it is I will fix that!

message 23: by gabriella (new)

gabriella (gabriella_stanton12) how many points are prompts worth?

message 24: by sahrai (new)

sahrai (sarahmirzayee) Prompts are worth 1 point each

message 25: by Necmi (new)

Necmi Çoban | 229 comments Hi,
For the prompt #9 is it supposed to have us just one favorite author?

message 26: by Necmi (new)

Necmi Çoban | 229 comments Hi,
For the prompt #12 an old book in its original language but newly translated and published in my mother tongue does count?

message 27: by sahrai (new)

sahrai (sarahmirzayee) For prompt #9 it doesn’t have to be just one favorite author it can be multiple. And yes that would work for prompt #12!
