(view spoiler)

I'll be starting tonight, and will keep you updated as I go!

The first third I kinda waded through, but today I just booked it (lol) to the end, it was so high tension.
Oh, it took me ages to realize what they were trying to do with the Achilles curse, my husband was making fun of me (he's read these books over and over, he was really happy that I finally read them). I definitely had the same thought, I was like " this is going to come back to bite him in the ass, I just know it!"
Yeah, we kind of got some more of that from Prometheus, with that line about history repeating itself, which has popped up a couple times in the series, to Percy's benefit, even if he doesn't realize it til almost too late
I actually don't think he realized it at all initially, not til confronted with it again when Kronos was trying to make him attack Percy. I was happy that Ethan did make that move against Kronos, but it came across as so immediately destructive for him. Sucks to die that way, but his sacrifice was honored, and I loved Percy's final request.
Yes, exactly! Same thought, as soon as he started to question whether it was actually Clarisse, I was totally thinking it was someone else. Silena being the spy is so awful! It was her information that got Charlie killed, I can't imagine the guilt she must have felt. Absolutely heart-wrenching
Rachel becoming the Oracle I was definitely vibing with early on, like after we got May's story and then having a pretty quick move to Percy dreaming and seeing Rachel's predictions, that was a pretty easy dot to connect. I think it works for her character, I don't think I could see through the mist, see the visions, and be able to live outside of it if I knew I could be within it.
This whole series was awesome, I'm really glad I got to read it! Thanks for buddy reading with me!

Yeah that's fair that Ethan probably didn't even think twice about his fight with Percy until Kronos asked. I'm glad he did what he did but it kinda sucks that he died like immediately.
Percy's request was great but also I love that like 20 pages later the prophecy is like yeah no the gods are going to forget this ever happened and I was like oof that's not good.
I think guilt probably played a big part in why Silena led the Ares cabin and fought the drakon. I definitely couldn't live with that kind of guilt.
Rachel becoming the oracle makes sense and same I kinda saw it from the beginning.
It has been an absolute pleasure buddy reading the series with you! Are you planning to read the Heroes of Olympus series as well? If so, I'd be totally down to continue our buddy reads!

Yeah..."
Just popping in as I've been watching the thread as I love the series.
There's currently 2 of us buddy reading heros of olympus but we have just finished the second one. We haven't set a date for the third but I'll let you know. Even if we don't end up reading them together I may pop into your chat as I would love to talk about hoo more :)

@Amelia Thank you for letting me know about the HOO buddy read. I've seen them pop up in nominations and it seems like you guys have been doing 1 book per month. I'd like to read them straight through so I'm not going to join in with you guys but it'd be great to chat with you if you pop into one of our threads!
