07/11 - I am revising the reading schedule by moving Chapter 14 to Week 2. I did not realize this book was divided into 2 Volumes. Apparently, the ebook that I checked out to create the reading schedule did not show this but my paperback edition does. It made my brain itch to stop and leave the last chapter of Volume 1 as a starting point for Volume 2.

(06/19) The following will be our reading schedule for Wuthering Heights. It's a bit faster than some of the other reads I've lead but I think 100ish pages a week is doable for this selection. If you feel this reading schedule is too ambitious, please do comment below.

Week 1 / Jul 05 - 11 / Chapters 01 - 08
Week 2 / Jul 12 - 18 / Chapters 09 - 14 (<-- add Chapter 14) end Vol. I

Week 3 / Jul 19 - 25 / Chapters 15 - 20 (<-- less Chapter 14)
or Vol II. Chapters 01 - 06

Week 4 / Jul 26 - Aug 01 / Chapters 21 - 27
or Vol II. Chapters 07 - 13

Week 5 / Aug 02 - 08 / Chapters 28 - 34
or Vol II. Chapters 14 - 20

Brian E Reynolds | 926 comments My Penguin paperback edition has 367 pages but the actual story is 322 pages. My Kindle version lists 300 pages but, at my preferred text size, the page turns amount to 330 pages. (neither is divided into Volumes) While GR lists some editions, like Gem's, with more than 400 pages, there are also ones with less than 300 pages. The editions seem to average around 360 to 370 pages, which may even include the Intros and preface like in my edition.
I'm just trying to say that this read's pace feels very similar to the typical 70 to 80 page weekly read in this group. So, Gem, don't worry about the pace being "too ambitious," as it really isn't.
We are also 45% done with the book after 2 of the 5 weeks so ahead of the average pace. This faster pace for the first 2 weeks is definitely worth not having Gem's brain itch.

I’m a bit behind but also think the pace chosen is good. It’s a fairly easy read - language wise.

Interesting. My hardback Doubleday version doesn’t show the 2 volumes either. Now I need to go back to the end of chapter 14 to see what justified the clear divide.
