One of the challenges is music related. It may be that the point is to make ppl who can defend the world?

Around what year did you read this book? A range of years is fine.
who's doing the teleporting and managing the games (for example: aliens, the military, a dystopian givernment)?
Possibly YA? And no clue on year but I think it was an audiobook. It's the earth secret military base using the aliens tech device to teleport them to the alien world to get stronger. But u don't find that out until later. If I remember correctly an alien (prince?) crashed on earth and they were able to capture him while he was weak but he was so OP it terrified them. They somehow figured out that that they could use his blood to make the kids more powerful. The thing that teleports is from the crashed ship. The challenges they are TPd too are how the aliens train there kids to become warriors. Eventually they free the alien who prince TP back his home world and he slowly befriends them but is torn still disgusted bc they used his blood to fake something sacred to his ppl
