NPR is revisiting their original 2011 reader poll of favorite science fiction and fantasy - focusing on books that have come out since that poll was published.

Nominate your favorites!

Jan | 774 comments I think I am going to loophole the s*** out of this and nominate only series that barely make it into the 2010s:

A Song of Ice and Fire (A Dance with Dragons, 2011)
The Kingkiller Chronicle (The Wise Man's Fear, 2011)
The Gentlemen Bastards (The Republic of Thieves, 2013)
The Discworld Novels (Raising Steam, 2013)

;-)

From 2017, an absolute joyride of a read. Alternate worlds story with spies spying on other timelines, where they might be killed/tortured/imprisoned by the people they're spying on, and working FOR people that might kill/torture/imprison them. Makes the Cold War look like a summer day's picnic!

And I want to second "All Systems Red" which is a hilarious and fun read.
