Keith Tokash | 2 comments Hi folks, I'm trying to advertise my upcoming book with The Onion. It might be too expensive, but the readership seems like a really good fit.

The problem is no one is responding to my email requests. Does anyone have experience with The Onion? Is this indicative of what I can expect if I spend 2k with them?

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments 2k? You're right to do some pre-spend research.

I've never heard of them but that doesn't mean much. I'll go take a look.

Dale Lehman (dalelehman) | 1814 comments No clue. I'd think their website would provide contact info for advertising. I assume that's what you've already tried.

Keith Tokash | 2 comments Yeah I got a "we'll get back to you" email from a human. Then nothing. Multiple nags.

If I didn't feel like this was a solid fit for my target audience I'd walk.

Never heard of them. Great name- but I'm not sure about their reach.

They're a well-known and sometimes notorious purveyor of satire. (Some of their stories have been picked up by unsuspecting third parties and passed around as real news, which they definitely are not!) See their Wikipedia entry for info.
