okay i read a chunk this time so here goes my 2nd update

- okay i hadn't mention Darrow's niece last time , but man , she got big iron balls indeed. that was a fresh piece of information i wonder if she will have a bold appearance later on

-okay i didn't know ephraim is such a softie , i honestly pictured him someone like dancer and like. and i didn't know i need this banter until now. good to see 😊

-also , since lyria is already in luna , where golds are mostly living , having her path crossed with pax and mustang was interesting. oh and i pity pax. he is such a lonely boy . he just wants his daddy. and the way he had information about all soldiers and staffs?? and the way lyria was so angrily talking about her life and all , i'm sure pax understands but not the way lyria thinks so , so that was a little miscommunication.

-another thing , did you guys realize what ephraim true mission is? i'll just say it , stealing some high proffesional children. creepy and does that ring a bell for you ???? because it does for me and i'm scared .

-I'm sorry i just had to mention this 😂😂 honestly cassius and lysander banter is sometimes cheff's kiss.

- something i wanted to mention about lysander , although I'm not still sure about his motives , but he definitely isn't on the right side. he still has some feelings toward when he was with his grandmother and that surely is effecting him.I personally don’t hate him. I see him as a kid, a kid who had a rough upbringing and was taught to value order and peace at the expense of others. His desire for unification of the Golds “for the good of mankind” has blinded him into a campaign that he doesn’t even fully understand.there are so many parallels between him and Darrow. Worshiped by some, hated by others.

okay my brief update before i reply to yegi:

- i'm a genius, i knew darrow's niece would stow away! absolute genius.
- i'm a genius 2.0, i knew the big heist was for a person not a physical thing (though i didn't quite know who)
- i'm too much of a genius for my own good, i suspected that ephraim was using lyria for something to do with the heist :((

in conclusion, i wasn't too shocked by anything that happened in this set, it's just like when we guessed what happened in Cinderella is Dead, Karen! but on a much smaller scale haha.

EDIT: i decided to turn this into a longer update... anyway, my thoughts!

Ephraim & Lyria:
- i'm scared for pax and electra... i hope they're both okay... and kavax better not die, or i'll throw hands. but omg, darrow, sevro, mustang and victra are going to absolutely LOSE THEIR SHIT in their determination to get their kids back haha. this is going to get ugly. i hope the kids are alright...
- i don't even love the kids that much yet, but my babies (darrow, sevro, mustang, victra) love them, so i have to like them😂
- i'm so freaking disappointed in ephraim... i thought better of him... i know he was kinda forced into this, but kids, ephraim? really? i love that volga voiced her disapproval (in a way), i just wish she'd do more.
- lyria, that was embarrassing. you got played so easily that even i saw it coming (i don't think pierce was being subtle haha, it was pretty clear ephraim had an ulterior motive). but yeah that was just really sad to watch on your behalf, lyria. (i don't know why i'm talking in second person right now haha). anyway, poor lyria!
- and to think ephraim would've killed her if the safety was off... he didn't even really help her, mustang and victra will hunt her down for the accidental part she played in pax and electra's capture.

Darrow:
- honestly not much happening for darrow, but wow, this minotaur seems like an absolute psycho haha. i wonder if their plan will work, or if pierce will break our hearts again with another failed plan?

Cassius & Lysander:
- things aren't looking to good for cassius, either... he's about to duel belepheron or whatever his name is, and he's not exactly in peak dueling shape. i don't think this will go well for cassius... he might not even survive this one. it's not as if pierce isn't afraid to kill off characters :((. i have mixed feelings on cassius, but i don't want him to die!
- yeah i don't like lysander much... i honestly wish he'd just die and i wouldn't have to worry about the trouble he could (and probably will) cause darrow😂. i'm selfish, and i don't care hehe.
- but wow, they really got played by dido and seraphina haha... it was a little embarrassing, almost as bad as the way lyria got played. not so smart now, ay lysander?

hopefully you can catch up soon, karen sis! and i've loved discussing with you and look forward to reading more, yegi❤.

but yeah, i'm soooo disappointed in ephraim for this, and i stand with volga's dislike of him. i wish volga would save the kids and leave on her own... but it's unlikely, she's way too loyal to ephraim. but yes, so disappointed in ephraim.

ahh yeah, he definitely can't be trusted and definitely won't be an ally to darrow, but i also don't hate him - yet. i kinda dislike him though😂. but yeah, he's definitely been raised on the wrong side... it'll be interesting to see what happens to him.

- [ ] Okay now that I found out Phillipe is Ephraim, (I don’t know how you guys caught onto that! Such geniuses!), it seems he is using Lyria for the pendant probably has a tracking or mic in it, so what do they want from the Telemaus?

Ch 32 Lysander - The Rending
- [ ] Oh dear, I am starting to rethink my thoughts on Lysander. Please don’t let him go rogue!

Ch 33 Lysander - Alien
- [ ] Prey indeed, I wonder what Seraphina’s mother wants with them now

Ch 34 Darrow - Apollonius au Valii-Rath
- [ ] Ha yep of course Rhona would snuck into the ship, I knew it
- [ ] Man this plan of theirs to use Apollonius could go terribly wrong and then they have a maniac on the lose! I hope they know what they are doing

Ch 35 Lyria- Teardrop in the door
- [ ] HOW DARE SHE INSULT PAX LIKE THAT!! I can’t believe she actually said that to him! He is a red and a Gold it’s not his fault he has been left in the dark because of it and just wanted to learn from someone who has lived there!

Ch 36 Lysander - Dinner with Dragons
- [ ] Oh no, they’re about to get discovered!

Ch 37 Lysander - Prey
- [ ] Oh man this is about revenge on her daughter! Damn this is going to get interesting!

Ch 38 Lysander - Gruesli
- [ ] Oh my gosh that was disgusting to read
- [ ] Now Cassius has to fight, but what will become of Lysander? They think he’s Cassius brother, but if they find out the truth?
- [ ] I don’t know if I want Cassius to die, I was kinda hoping he will see Darrow somehow, see where that leads, because I fear if Cassius dies, Lysander will challenge Darrow for the throne indeed

Ch 39 Ephraim - Lion’s Den
- [ ] They took Pax!!!! And did they take all the children too!! Is Servo’s daughters with them too!
- [ ] This is their heist! I shouldn’t be surprised but I am! Why did they take the children!
- [ ] And poor Lyria! I kinda wish she was shot instead, now she must live on the run! She will never see Liam again! Ephraim has robbed her life! Argh I hate this!

So true, but yes I reckon she will have a big moment, perhaps even rescuing the children too. Can't wait to read more about her

Tbh she should not have lashed her anger out on him, he is just a kid trying to understand a world he has been sheltered from. He is a Red by blood like her, and even if he has not experienced the hardships she has, he is making an effort to try and understand it. That is saying a lot for a 10 year old!
I have such a soft spot for Pax, no one better mistreat my baby's little baby!

Well, the first thing that comes to mind when I read this was the Hunger Games? Even though they didn't really steal children, more like offered them up for slaughter haha

I really like your thoughts here, and yes I agree with you. Lysander is definitely having mixed feelings. While Cassius has lost all hope for his colour, Lysander has not and it does cloud his judgement. I have mixed feelings for him too, and hope he does not go astray, but I reckon he will too. Especially if Cassius is killed

We are geniuses! I also guessed she would stow away and I kinda half guessed about the children. Your thought on the heist being a person gave me the thought of Pax and the kids so yay for us!
And yes I also realised Ephraim was only using Lyria for the heist!

Argh me too! I don't want him to die! Mainly cause I want to see him and Darrow reunited and for Lysander's sake too! Cassius is the only reason why Lysander has not ran away and tried to take back his home

Hahah I don't completely agree with you here, but I see your point. He definitely can hurt Darrow and make his life miserable in so many ways, so I guess I understand why you would want him away from Darrow!
I see him like a Cassius, how Pierce will make us absolutely hate his guts and despise him and then have him come back to us where we sort of tolerate him like Cassius! But we will see, who knows what Lysander and Darrow will do in the last part!

Tbh I needed that break so I am glad I took it cause I feel so refreshed and ready to tackle this series, with a broken heart and all!

~same here , i'm not really good with children eaither and i don't particular;y care but since they are children of my faves , i'm also scared because their parents are worried and have to go on more mission and problems

nope not at all problem darce , I'd like to. and apologies to Karen if this doesn't relate to topic .so to be brief , this book is an average ya and can get a little fantasy but not that much of notice. i don't know anything about princess bride and this book seems like to be retelling of that. i liked the first book more than the sequel , and it did end on a good note but going into the 2nd book , i honestly didn't know what to expect from , but it did go on a different day.
i wasn't fan of The Characters because they did not have much depth to them even though I did not dislike them. I wish that the main heroine Ama and her love Luca were fleshed out more. and i feel like it gets forgettable over the time specially that still the last book has to be released , and i don't think it is worth the wait ,so i say let the series be completed and binge it if you like.
so to make it short, I'm not really a fan of this , i read the first book back when it came out and i saw a free copy of the sequel so that's why i read it , but i didn't remember much from the first book so it kinds dragged for me 😅this book kinda gives me the vibe of ash princess trilogy if you have read it , but i liked that one better.
