Use this topic to discuss whether you enjoyed your June picks from Iran, and whether you’d recommend it to your fellow readers! Did you find it easy/difficult to complete this task?

Sireesha | 29 comments I'd like to read Disoroental so if anyone read that I'd love to hear their thoughts. And it they recommend.

this is what i read and i felt the same! I also learned a lot about Iran beyond the most basic surface-level understanding i had before.

Sarah | 7 comments I read The Stationary Shop and really loved it! I felt like it was a great mix of story, history, and culture. I’m also researching Iranian recipes now since the descriptions of the food in the book were amazing.

Dainey | 69 comments I readShahnameh: The Epic of Kings.

It's pretty standard for a (translated) poem epic, lots of who begat whom and who slew whom and names you've seen in mangled contexts in pop culture.

If that's your cup of tea, it's an entertaining read. If that sort of thing bores you to tears, this one isn't gonna change your mind.

Jamie Zaccaria I read Embroideries by Marjane Satrapi.

Embroideries by Marjane Satrapi

5 Stars: The perfect way to tell these women's stories. I can't recommend this enough.

Nicole (lapetite) | 58 comments I just finished The Stationery Shop and omg my poor heart. I enjoyed it, even though the beginning was a little slow. Overall, though? It's really lovely. Now I am weepy and looking to satisfy a craving for Iranian food.
