OMG I'll just go straight up to the big elephant in the room part and to be honest it was more emotionally cliffhanger and mostly for the characters not us 😅 if you know what i mean , i mean it was only the uncertain faith of ephraim and the children.and also , the whole situation with the ash lord , i can totally get what darrow is feeling , the feel of anger and all. it feels like they come for nothing ,Darrow spent much of Iron Gold tracking down the Ash Lord, including releasing Apollonius from Deepgrave to help with the mission. i know it's actually easier to see him that weak but the fact that it was atlantia , it's like being back to square one. and why or how apollonius failed or didn't even mention he was poisoning ash lord, I'm not sure.-oh and it was sevro who made the first kill for ash lord. WHAT A KING! In a super amazing move, Darrow consents to let Apollonius set the Ash Lord ablaze. Ashes to ashes and all that. LOVED THAT. So the Ash Lord is no more, but Atalantia is the real threat.
-and on this matter , although darrow and sevro didn't depart on a good term (which makes me sad😥) i'm glad he is coming back for the children, at least. I respect both sevro and darrows mission ,though, on the first note everyone wants to scream at darrow to fucking go get your child back but i know what he is up to and i undertsand it , it's hard yes, but i totally respect that, he wants to end this war while his at it and someone with a right mind would do that .
-though when he said we don't know the children are alive that bloody pissed me off (what do you mean darrow 😠). mostly because i don't want their parents bond shattered and see them sad.
I knew this was gonna be a one-way ticket…
-Ahhh goodness must this bloody queen made ephraim's escape like hell?? Great now we don't know what's their fate until next book. Whoever the Syndicate Queen is, there’s a chance she’s someone close to Darrow. But what are her true motives?
-Oh bloody hell more kidnapping for lyria?? one of Victra’s people showed up and took her from her room. It’ seems Victra is not quite as forgiving of Lyria’s (unintentional) involvement in Pax and Electra’s kidnapping as Mustang. Honestly leave her alone for a sec would ya?
- and speaking of , mustang didn't really let any words out about the kidnapping even she dodn't bother to tell darrow i guess. i feel like Mustang doesn’t want the Senate to find out that Pax and Electra were kidnapped. If words get out, they might rule that she’s unfit to lead while she deals with this mess.
-something about Apollonius , he is a wild card in this game right now. He doesn’t seem to have much allegiance to Gold or the Society. He’s also not on great terms with Darrow.Okay and he did help darrow on the matter of armies and all but that doesn't mean he ain't sus, i think he will pops up more in next book.
-What’s The Deal With Lysander’s Memory? if you read that part , Music certainly does have a way of triggering memories, but Lysander seems to feel it’s out of character for him to completely forget something like that, which begs to question, why did he forget? And what else does he not remember?is that why everyone was saying he was kind of brainwashed and so why?by whom? I don’t know if this will be relevant to the future books, but it seems unusual enough to stand out as something that could come up again.
-okay good news is at least Kavax Is only in Bad Shape and he'll recover right?
okay i waited until this book ends and see if we get anything about cassius but nope , and i feel like this a situation i would like to call no body no crime👀👀 it's basically Sus if you ask me. and these are the reason why i feel like that , i know he wasn't that much important to me , but I'm just confused and curious.-It happened off-screen, so to speak. If Cassius were going to die, why wouldn’t it happen at the end of that epic series of duels when we were watching? Why have him taken to the infirmary only to have him quietly pass unseen by Lysander (and us)? If he is dead, he went out after a major fight. But why couldn’t he have gone out fighting or immediately after winning that last duel?
-We never saw a body. Supposedly Cassius’ body was carried off to be desecrated in the Waste.
-Pierce Brown would NEVER fake us out with a character death, right?! Oh… wait. He totally would. But from a story perspective, Cassius death — real or not — took him out of the picture, which allowed Lysander the freedom to make his own decisions
-Cassius can’t have really gone out this way… right? It isn’t that he died after multiple victorious duels. That in itself is pretty fitting for Cassius. It’s that the whole point of those duels was to prevent a war.
i have a theory,Cassius escaped and they don’t want Lysander to know.not sure what purpose would he have in future but i feel like he'll be back , maybe like 40 percent sure.I’m prepared to believe he might actually be dead, despite my gut instinct on this whole thing.Like I said, he might be. Cassius wanted to die with honor, and if that’s the case, he made a valiant effort to do that, fighting for a cause he believed in.I still think there’s more to the story of his death. But for argument’s sake, let’s say that Cassius did die. Then this is the end of a very sad story for a privileged man who had a pretty rough life, all things considered
anyway i talked a lot , i would love your thoughts on the end and this. and thanks a lot for reading this book with me and having me here , look forward to next book.

Ch 58 Ephraim - Halfbreed and Hatchetface
- [ ] Oh my gosh! I love there sassy ness! Electra has the spiting attitude of her father and I love it! Plus Pax is so brave like Darrow, he does what is right and knows how to take control which is awesome! Born leadership right there!
- [ ] Man I just hope Ephraim follows through with their deal!
Ch 59 Lyria - Forgiveness
- [ ] Oh no!! What happened! Why did Victra send someone to kill her!!! Omg !
- [ ] And I was just getting so happy that Lyria and Mustang made peace with each other! Why wasn’t Victra invited to these meetings!
Ch 60 Darrow - Ashes to Ashes
- [ ] Okay so I was half right, the Ash Lord May not be dead but he was basically at its door for the last 3 years!
- [ ] My goodness! I knew it didn’t feel right, all this planning was for nothing! They go back and they’re probably still be enemies of the state. I just hope Pax and Electra are safe when they return
Ch 61 Lysander - The Moon Lord
- [ ] Ooooh! Darcey you were right Romulus was the one who helped Darrow and knew he bombed the docks! He was the one who Darrow spoke about not seeing each other again not the Ash Lord who I thought
- [ ] But wow, all this planning that Dido did, all for nothing! It will be interesting to see how things will turn out now without Romulus as leader
Ch 62 Lysander - Iron Gold
- [ ] That was so terrifying to read, how awful. I feel sorry for Romulus, keeping that secret to protect his people and prevent a war. Full knowing it will one day catch up to him
- [ ] I hope Lysander takes his advice to stop the war instead of starting it, but I highly doubt it right now
Ch 63 Lysander - Lux ex Telebris
- [ ] It is 11pm right now so bear with me but who is Lysander’s godfather? My minds gone blank
- [ ] But yeah I knew he would start this war against Darrow, he holds so much hope for his colour
Ch 64 Ephraim - Locust Queen
- [ ] Oh my gosh! I hope they survive!

Ch 65 Darrow - The Rending
- [ ] Darrow! What are you doing! Why not go back to help your son!
- [ ] Man I get why, I get it the war is coming but his son! And Servo! Nooo they can’t go separate like that! Why didn’t he explain it better to Servo!
- [ ] But okay I get Darrow choice, he does need to stop the war from approaching Luna and he doesn’t even know there’s another war coming his way with Lysander so I guess he does need to put a stop to it first, but I just really wish he didn’t degrade himself. Not being a good father or husband! Darrow don’t be like that! No one is perfect and no one is asking you to be! I feel so conflicted!

yep yep yep... the Ash Lord is old new haha, he's dead and gone, and now i feel like we'll be properly introduced to Atalantia and we'll really be hit... she seems like she'll be pretty scary.

ahhh i know i know and i understand why Darrow left, but YEGI MY BABIES😭😭😭 it's always been the two of them against the world, they're always by each other's sides, defending one another, and now they're separated and angry at one another and i'm so worried for what might happen to both of them in Dark Age. Dark Age is going to hit hard, we all know that.
but yes i agree, i completely understand the missions of both men, though i just wish my boy Darrow could bond with his son a little more. and that last paragraph from Darrow seemed a bit scary...

i honestly barely remember guessing this but yay me!! yeah i kinda figured he knew... he's too smart not too... poor Romulus, i kinda liked him. i'm a little sad that he's gone :((.

hahaha don't worry hon, i blanked too, but i did a little research to confirm, and yep: lysander's godfather is (well, was) magnus au grimmus, a.k.a. the ash lord. lysander doesn't know he's dead yet... whoops.

i knowwww😭😭our favourite bro relationship, besties and brothers for life, they're breaking up and it hurts my soul😭. i can't handle it when sevro and darrow divorce... they partially did it once and it almost broke me, and now they're completely severed?? nu-uh, don't you dare pierce, they better be reunited real quick.

I agree with you 100% here! It seems like every time we think Darrow has a good lead on someone, it immediately gets thrown back at him and we are back to square one! It is pretty suspicions that Apollonius didn’t even mentioned he had poisoned the Ash Lord earlier. He’s unhinged and I think he is planning something big in the next book

It was pretty great! Especially with the whole symbolism behind it and all about the ashes! Loved the play of words. Pierce is like a clever and evil genius!

I agree, it is hard for me to see Darrow going off and trying to end this war. I guess he knows Servo will do everything he possibly can to save both Electra and Pax. I just worry Darrow’s humanity or his heart for his family might be slipping away :( I definitely don’t want him to have a distant relationship with his son

Yep, I am glad she is keeping it quiet, I just hope it doesn’t leak out because it will put Mustang’s position in jeopardy

Yes! This is a huge news for all and I am definitely curious in who he really is. Perhaps he is a clone like you said, and Aja and the old Sovereign (can’t remember her name) would have wanted to bring him back to life, or erase who he was and make him anew who would follow their teachings and guidance more obedience.
Definitely something I am looking forward to discovering about him

Man I really hope so! I am starting to like Lyria a lot. I just hope she isn’t too badly hurt by Victoria, though I understand her frustration and trying to get her daughter back. Don’t mess with pregnant mama bears!

I remember that first fight! Hurt my soul when they were angry and throwing punches at each other like crazy! But I feel like this is 1000 times worse since, they didn’t hurt each other physically like before, this is all mentally and emotional and its the worse kind of pain! The worse pain especially for Darrow right now! That last line like you said, it does seem very scary. I feel like without Servo by his side, he could do who knows what! I am so worried for him 😭💔
