Aryan Save | 30 comments Despite the popularity of the Harry Potter series, this book (technically a screenplay) did not receive a lot of good responses. However, I think it has done a good thing by taking the story forward with a new perspective. Everyone sees Harry Potter as the savior who prevented Voldemort, but they don't think about what kind of pressure that puts on the children of the people at the front lines during the Battle of Hogwarts. By introducing new characters with new problems, the book attempts to develop the characters first, and then brings in a common enemy. What this essentially does is that it makes the book much easier to understand through each of the characters' points of view rather than them together fighting against the villain.

Due to this, you get justification for some of their actions which makes the story much better (in my opinion). Unfortunately, due to the way it is physically presented (as a screenplay), it does not retain the original flow of the Harry Potter series, and it breaks it up into scenes which makes it harder to keep up with where everyone is in the story (both mentally and physically). While the content in the book itself is pretty interesting and engaging, the presentation is not that great.

I rate this book 3.5/5.

Rebekah | 59 comments Aryan,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this book or screenplay. You can't help but love anything that has anything to do with Hogwarts, but I appreciate your honesty. I think this new story would be entertaining - does not have to win any awards to be appreciated. I look forward to reading/watching it someday.

Rebekah
