Jen | 268 comments No spoilers in this comment, but I really wish someone would have warned me not to listen to Chapter 6 right before lunch *insert vomity noises here*

Ruth | 1778 comments Yeah, from the comments I’ve seen, I’m not regretting my decision to re-Lem this book. Just not for me!

Trike | 11190 comments “…and in chapter 6, I’m going to go full Stephen King, right after I lull them with a bit of Kipling and Austen. [evil laugh]”

Jen | 268 comments Stephen King is right!

I don't do horror, and that chapter made me pretty squeamish. I'm soldiering on though and hoping that it won't get any worse.

Tina (javabird) | 765 comments Yeah, I’m out. I got that far, but I’m lemming it.

Tamahome | 7215 comments The Eaters chapter seems to be the hump. The next two chapters, Interlude in darkness, and A Game of Damage, are pretty fun though, at least to a science fiction geek like me.

Leesa (leesalogic) | 675 comments It looks like I'm the outlier here. But... I'm the person that can eat while reading graphic descriptions of autopsies, so...

Getting into this book was very difficult for me, primarily for the info dump of character names/background/etc that I had to restart it multiple times until I got about two hours in.

From about 2 hours in until "chapter six", I was finally invested enough to put the book at least in the middle ground of my attention span. Then when we got to the point of mentioning (view spoiler), I was rewinding for entirely different reasons, and I was all in. Finally, we're past setting up the scene/background/montages, and we're fully getting to understand this weird universe, but also just what Horza can and will do. Great stuff!

But also gloriously disgusting.

A+++ will read again.

Fresno Bob | 602 comments yep, the Eaters segment seemed to be channelling some of the Wasp Factory wierdness....
