Maddox is alive! Did you suspect it before it was revealed in the limo? Why do you think he felt the need to stay hidden from everyone?

Lynn (ftbooklover) Well, I don't want to gloat, well, I guess I do, but if you look back at the answers to questions from early in the book, I predicted that he was still alive and portraying the role of Deep Throat. However, I'm very sure that I wasn't the only one who thought this might be the case. Staying hidden helped him to search for clues behind the scenes without having every move he made available for public scrutiny.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I knew Maddox was alive. I was confident that he went in hiding to protect the people he loves. I wonder if he knows Sarah is pregnant.

He didn't have a choice but to hide and figure out what was going on behind the scenes. If the Russians knew he was alive, they would try again. He needed to convince them that he was no longer a threat.

Lynn, I remember you and I were pretty confident he was still alive. I’ve always believed that from the first book.

Whatever Maddox learned, it was powerful and dangerous enough to make him go underground. I still don’t know what that was. Part of the reason may also to protect Sara and the baby.

Stay tuned! I was so happy it was revealed here.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I was hoping he was alive. So glad we found out he is. I wonder if he disappeared to protect Sara and his baby also.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I sure wanted him to be alive, but I'm not certain I really believed he was. Him being Deep Throat, or at least the mind behind the Deep Throats, makes perfect sense. He must have quite a network to stay hidden and gather information too.

I want to learn more about that network!

I suspected he was alive all along and that he was Deep Throat. Turns out he was the DT mastermind (the different DTs threw me off for a while).

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I remember thinking when we encountered DT a few times, why did this person (or people) only contact the women? Did they think they were gullible or that they might be a better help.

That's a very good question, Karen. Also, the various DTs always warned the women against getting involved with the PGs. It is as if Maddox doesn't trust his old buddies to choose the women's well-being over their friendship. I wonder if this wasn't a result of Roman's treatment of Gus in the past?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I was thinking that the men would ask more questions and Maddox might give himself away. He knew the women would tell the guys whatever he shared and they would search for the answers.

My thought about DT asking Gus to bring Roman. He wanted to get a sense of how she was doing. He did let hints slip about what happened to Gus. Depending on Roman's response, he would know how much Gus shared with him.
