I think I'd probably have to pick Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows (I sometimes walk with a limp due to autoimmune disease), Hermione Granger from Harry Potter (I'm intelligent and love studying), Jasper Cullen from Twilight (I'm highly empathetic and can feel another's emotions as if they're my own), and Leo Valdez from The Heroes of Olympus (because half of my heritage goes back to Mexico and I'm a Texan)

Vianna Lim (viannareads) Stella Lane from The Kiss Quotient. She is me except for the asperger syndrome.

Yep. Polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis, an autoimmune disease that affects my joints that I was diagnosed with when I was 9 months old 18 years ago. I have arthritis in every joint in my body (polyarticular means 5+ joints). Name the joint, and I'll probably say yes. Why is that surprising? Because I'm so young? Because it's random?

Yes, nine months. I am used to it. It's been almost 20 years, so....it's just my life, and it's been my life since forever. No, I'm not on medication. I have been in the past. I've been on chemotherapy before, but not now. I am fine. I'm in the middle of a flare right now, but I'm doing pretty good, thanks for asking. I used to go to a hospital for check ups. It varied. When I was a child, I went to an appointment every 3 months. Then it was every 6 months. Then once a year. I haven't had an appointment in a couple years because the hospital I went to wanted to put me on medication for essentially no reason, then I didn't go last year or this year because pandemic. I now probably have to find a new hospital, unless my parents want to try the other one again. The questions are fine. If you're interested more, I am going to be uploading a post on my blog on Thursday about what it's like living with juvenile arthritis if you are truly interested in my disease and my life. =D

I mean, to a certain extent, I didn't really have a choice. I don't think I fully understood my condition until I was about 6. To be honest, there was really never anything to 100% cope with. I've never really known a life without pain, so I just thought it was normal. Then, I realized it wasn't, and that's that. Sometimes I get annoyed. Sometimes I get sad and depressed, but overall, I can't change it, so why bother to a certain extent? Yeah, it stinks, but it's my life, and I'd rather I deal with it and not anyone else, because I'd never wish my pain on anyone.

Most people with autoimmune disease tend to have to cope more because they're diagnosed as adults and get depressed because they can't do the things they used to. They end up mourning the life they had before. Since I never had that, there's nothing to mourn except maybe the life I never had the chance to have. I was essentially born this way, and this is the only life I've known. You know what I mean?

There are times where I wish I was "normal," but what even is normal? I'm sorry I couldn't give you a more philosophical/psychological answer. I'm the wrong person to ask for that type of question. There are definitely mental hurdles, but I wouldn't say any of them pertain to coping with autoimmune disease and arthritis.

If you're interested in topics like these, this is a link to all the posts on my blog that I've published on autoimmune disease and my experience. https://musingsofanarthriticartist.bl...

You're free, welcome, and even encouraged to ask me more about it. I'm happy to answer your questions. =D

Oh wow. I'm glad to hear that reading about my sister's experience helped you see things in a different perspective. That's one reason why I started blogging. I wanted to show people a new perspective. I wanted to introduce them to the life of a young arthritic.

Also, I'm sorry about your brother. That sounds tough. I personally have two second cousins (I think they're second cousins) who are autistic and non-vocal, but I've never met them.

Feel free to ask me questions anytime, and if you want to talk to me about more things like this, feel free to PM me if you aren't comfortable with other people reading it. I should have them open. Feel free to even friend me if you want. It doesn't bother me. Just PM me asking for the answer to my challenge question (if you can't figure it out), and boom, done. I am very happy, thanks! I hope you are too, and I hope you're doing well <3

P.S. Thanks for making my day with the questions and talking about how my post affected you so positively, even if it caused you to tear up (I also teared up a bit when I edited it) =D

I just realized I forgot one of the most relatable characters in all of literature. The Tin Man from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. As a child, I could barely walk without being oiled (literally; my mother would rub olive oil all over my joints to lower the inflammation) due to stiffness. The Tin Man is amazing and super relatable. =D <3

Jo, Beth, and Amy in Little Women:
1. Jo: Because she likes writing
2. Beth: Because she plays the piano. I play the piano too!
3: Amy: Because she likes painting and is artistic

No you’re not. No one is actually. That’s just the way some people thinks. Anyway, it’s my dad who chose for me and I got to decide though somehow through some piano lessons I got a little bored. 😂😊🤗

Well, I guess in mine. My dad plays the guitar and is currently learning the saxophone. I play the guitar and is currently learning the recorder/ flute.

I don't play an instrument. My sister knows how to play clarinet, and she was teaching me how to play recorder. I've always wanted to learn to play piano and violin, but I don't have the money for that.

Really? Cool! I haven't practiced all year, though. I learned a little last year.
