Between The Pages discussion

Hi Everyone!

If you're like me, you're one of those people who started the year off thinking about all the books and series' that'll be finished this year. Now it's almost August, your TBR has sort of fallen through and your Goodreads Reading Challenge has definitely become... well... a challenge.

Luckily we have a solution! We call it the "Conquer Your TBR Challenge" which will be a five month long readathon going from August 1st to December 31st.

What is the challenge you ask?

In The Conquer Your TBR Challenge you would need to write a list of 100 books you want to read by the end of the year (I know some of you won't read 100 books but it's just to give you more choice and variety for the challenge). The aim of the challenge is to read as many books from your list as possible to earn yourself some points. It's also okay to read books that aren't from your list however you won't earn as many points.

The books for the challenge can be as long as you like. You earn more points the longer the book is. You can also read from any genre, it's not limited to just YA. Only books finished from August 1st - December 31st will count. If you started the book in July but finished it in August then that's completely valid too. You can earn points through page points and other factors listed below (these are only valid for books on your list).

PAGE POINTS

1-99 pages = 1 Point
100-199 pages = 2 Points
200-299 pages = 3 Points
300-399 pages = 4 Points
400-499 pages = 5 Points
500-599 pages = 6 Points
600-699 pages = 7 Points
700+ pages = 8 Points

EXTRA POINTS

1 BOTM (From Between the Pages Book Club) = 5 Points
2 BOTM (From Between the Pages Book Club) = 10 Points
Every 10 books you read = 5 Points
Reviews = 5 Points (Reviews must be longer than 2 sentences)
Buddy Read = 5 Points

For books that aren't on your TBR list you will earn only 3 points regardless of if you posted it with a review, if it was a Between the Pages BOTM etc.

WAY TO ENTER YOUR BOOK IN FOR THE CHALLENGE:

Book # on list: (N/A if it's not on list)
Book Name:
Pages:
Review:
Extras: (Buddy read, BOTM etc)

Also once you post your TBR list, you can't edit it so make sure you're happy with it before you post!

Sign ups close on the 31st of July so be quick! Comment your name down below if you're interested or have any questions. We will be making separate pages for all the participants where you can comment your list and then the books you have finished. We really hope you will get involved and have fun!

It was so hard for me to narrow my list down XD

Yeah, that's going to be hard ha ha! I am worried about posting my list too soon because I might end up reading some of those books before August, lol!

I just got a whole heap of ARCs so that's why my list definitely needed a bit of changing XD

Just curious how we should be logging our books and how many points each of our books on the list are worth (vs. 3 points for books not on the list). A few of us are attempting to log our books but what will make your life easier, Sylvs and Zitong? Thanks!

We just realised we didn't add that in (yikes!) we are editing them into individual pages now. Sorry for the delay! Formatting wise though we would prefer:

THE RESULTS ARE IN!!

First of all I'd like to say thank you so much to everyone participating. It wasn't about winning, it was all about conquering your TBR and hopefully seeing that pile shrink. Without further ado...

In THIRD PLACE we have Shawna who ended the challenge with 322 points

In SECOND PLACE we have Akacya who ended the challenge with 354 points

And finally... in FIRST PLACE we have Eileen who ended the challenge with a jaw-dropping 1201 points!!

congrats everyone! and especially Eileen who smashed it!!

Thanks, everyone! This was a lot of fun and I picked up some recommendations for more reads from others! And I was able to make a small dent in my TBR pile, including hitting quite a few that sat languishing on my shelf for a long time. So it was win-win all around. :)

We're glad to hear it :) We're probably going to do something similar later this year too!

Count me in! :) Considering the number of books I made it through, my list only went down by about 50, lol!
