Hi Penny!
I have so many questions about spin-offs: Do you usually plan them, or do you find that readers request them? Are they easy because the characters are somewhat developed, or hard because of continuity? How do you chose which characters get a spin-off?

I'm also curious to know which of your characters you identify with the most!

Hi Penny, love your books ever since KITC series. Which book has been the easiest one for you to write and which one the toughest (either in terms of the writing process or the plot and characters)?

I did originally plan to write the spin-offs of Green Valley characters! I am definitely a plotter... Although some I have decided to do as fan requests, but most of the characters just talk so much that they demand their own story ;-) I have a wiki of all my worlds and characters that helps me keep track of them. I wouldn't say that it's any easier or harder with the spin-offs, they feel similar to my other books. I choose characters who interest me and feel like they need their story told.

I identify most with Cletus. Which should terrify everyone.

Beard Science was easy for me to write! It came together in 10 days since I knew exactly what I wanted for Cletus and Jenn. I think the most difficult would be Beard With Me... I didn't think I'd ever write that story because it is so sad! I struggled to actually sit down and write the book. It took a lot out of me.

Hello Penny!

I love that you created Smartypants Romance and that you opened up your world, in the best kind of way. I have two questions.

My first question is, will you have Smartypants Romance accept submission proposals, that go beyond fiction and stories that take place in your universe? Specifically non-fiction ideas that will still be connected to the romance genre; proposals that would be flip from smart romance to academic romance?

My second question is, will your "Laws of Physics" series ever be in a single bound book like you had for "Elements of Chemistry"?

Hi Mistie! Currently we don't have any plans to open up submissions for proposals that go beyond fiction and stories in my universe. We are an incredibly small business and don't have the administrative staff to take on more projects currently. That being said, maybe one day!

I have no plans for this right now, but I may release it in the future as a special edition :-)
