Detective Pierce Reed receives a note directly from “The Survivor” before Bobbi Marx’s body is discovered. Once you learned his connection to her, did you think the case was directly linked to him or were you keeping an open mind?

It did seem linked to him and Nikki Gillette as well. But I learned when reading these thrillers to keep an open mind, especially early on the in the story.

I thought there was a connection. At first I thought Bobbi was related to a case, but I was keeping an open mind.

Yes, I also thought there was a connection but was iffy about it because the killer's POV indicated that his actions were misdirection.

I thought it was definitely connected to Reed for a hot minute because The Survivor’s thoughts were actually supporting that theory. It wasn’t until the second death that I thought the motive had a broader connection.
