Nikki was asked by her newspaper to be interviewed about her friend Simone following her death. Were they out of line or was this something she might have done to another colleague in the same circumstances?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) Journalists are nearly ruthless when they are pursuing a story or angle. So it's probably par for the course.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments Journalistic integrity has been slowly vanishing over the past few years. All reporters and news channels care about these days in sensational headlines to get as many clicks as possible. The truth is secondary and at times even irrelevant.

As for Nikki, she had already begun to mature and to realize that there are limits, but this incident solidified it for her. I have a feeling she will not go back to being a journalist.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) I think she becomes a novelist/author after the events of this book.

Interesting.

Nikki quit the paper and is writing a book, which was noted in the epilogue.

Their insensitivity in how they approached Nikki about the interview was what I found reprehensible. She’d just lost her best friend and they could have cared less. If the leaders don’t have integrity, so goes everything they lead or produce. This was an ugly moment.

Susan (cruelshoes) | 158 comments I think Nikki definitely would have asked those questions to someone else. After all she is a reporter first I just think its her nature.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments They were insensitive. Nikki got a dose of her own medicine. Hopefully that will make her a better reporter/journalist/author in the future.
