Before we actually dive into the adventure itself, we are interested in how MK came to masterminding VITT. Particularly, we are curious: why this case? Why Holmes as the narrator?

M.K. (mkwiseman) | 6 comments Multiple reason answer on why I chose to have Holmes as narrator--

1. It adds something new to what might, otherwise, be simply throwing more stories out there that fit with / do not contradict canon. I felt I must actively take a fresh angle to play in the Sherlockian universe and, well, "Hooolmes Iiiin Spaaaace' just isn't my genre. haha

2. Also, as I am not Conan Doyle, nor pretend to be, the difference in author voice is easily managed by having a different narrator.

3. Holmes is fascinating. Holmes and Watson together are fascinating. And this allows looking at things from this different angle.

4. The challenge of coming up with an 'excuse' for writing from Holmes' POV is just plain fun. (And allows for different 'in jokes' for seasoned Holmesians to spot.)

(see reference to case in SUSS)

Simply put, when I signed on to do this story in support of the "FreeSherlock!" initiative (having connected with them on Twitter through the mutual love of Sherlock Holmes) I thought that maybe, for a short summer read, I could attempt something a bit more lighthearted...not so much Murder and Peril. And this unchronicled case caught my eye and seemed the one I could have the most fun with.

That's a reasonable explanation. I too get sick of the violence. As I was saying this week, the story was light and lovely on my head!

I also like how you didn't put Ms De Rossi and Michael as lovers..
