NO SPOILERS IF YOU'VE MADE IT PAST PART 2 PLEASE.
part 2 is page 119 (chapter 29) to page 295 (end of chapter 69)

This was quite a long section, how do you feel about how the book is divided and the overall pace?
What do you think will happen in part 3?
What do you predict your rating will be and what would the book have to do in part 3 for you to give it a perfect score?
Any reveals, revelations, twists and turns to comment on?

Jessica | 33 comments I'm definitely enjoying the pace of this book, it's such a quick read.
This entire book has been a roller coaster ride and I have no predictions. Personally I'm not a fan of Fallon and could have done without her showing up.
If this book sticks the landing I can see myself giving it 5 stars :)

Charlene (bookishlychar) | 34 comments Wow, this book is a rollercoaster. I find it I interesting how they switch perspectives in the middle of the chapter. I’m enjoying it so far, but so many things are happening, I’m not sure for sure if things are as straightforward as they seem. I know in Downing’s others books I was surprised, so I am thinking I will be surprised here, but I don’t know where the surprise is coming from.

Right now the book is sitting at a 4 for me, but this final part can really push it either way.

What is with Teddy’s milk fixation?

Antonia (bookisshtoni) | 9 comments I‘m enjoying the pace of the book and the little twists - so far it‘s probably between 3 and 4 stars depending on the ending.

Beaubooks | 15 comments I don’t know if this is something to be expected from Samantha Downing, but I love the fact that there are a lot of small chapters. This means I could stop reading at any time, but I don’t because I don’t want to 🤡

I also like the different POV. Fallon’s chapters are my least favourite, although I can’t really explain why…
This book reminds me a bit of ‘They Never Learn’ by Layne Fargo as well 😊

There haven’t been any major twists so far, but I expect Downing to make me fall off my chair by suprise soon. If that happens, this book will be a 5 star read for me.

As far as predictions for the end… I don’t know what will happen but I don’t expect Zach to come out of this unharmed. At this point, the murders could easily be pinned on him.

Also, where’s Allison? I somehow still can’t believe she’s still alive? 😂

GabbyGetsReading (gabby_giggles) | 8 comments I don't know why but I'm always rooting for the killer in books. not rooting for what they did but just wanting them to get away with it if they're are supposed to be the main character. I'm hoping that teddy wises up and realizes people are on to him. I also don't know why I just don't like Fallon. Like I get that's she's justifiably upset at Teddy for what he did but I think she got her payback with ruining his marriage. I'm not sure why she needed to put herself in debt and ruin her life by spying on teddy for more incriminating evidence to do even more bad things to him. it just seems like a waste of time and money for her. also in actual law they wouldn't be able to use her "evidence" because of the way she obtained it. And for Zach... he's cool and all but why does he have a genius detective character. Like he figures out the whole murder, motives, murder weapon (poison), who it is and where they are, etc all just by one small clue. I kinda hate that. like it'd be one thing if he worked to figure it out through the whole book and then figured it out towards the end but through this whole books he's just been uncovering things left and right every time it happened. it just feels unrealistic in this semi realistic world.
so far this book is riding a 4 stars for me though. it's fast paced, it's fun and I need to know if Teddy gets away with it or if he gets the typical ending where his head gets too big and gets caught, acts sooo shocked and it goes from there.

Pamela (iheartcobalt) | 2 comments I don't know what this says about me but I LOVE how damn petty Teddy is and he is kind of my favorite character in the story lol Dramatic, rich, entitled people sabotaging (and killing) each other is so fun to read.

Rachel F (rachelbookdragon) | 13 comments This book has been bonkers throughout, I am still very intrigued with and about it though ;p

Lisa | 36 comments ok Kayla! I relent! You were right about the book so far! Now I cannot put it down and want to buy it for my sisters who are teachers! Wow it has really picked up from the first part! Is it wrong to have empathy for Teddy? I'm wondering who he knocks off next or will Zach be the dark horse??

dibajida | 9 comments too many developments in this section, it's going pretty fast. I like that there are small chapters, it's easy to keep track.
However, I'm not that happy...at this point it's probably 3.5/4 stars.I hope the ending blows my mind so I can give it 5 stars.

Leigh (leigholive) | 46 comments Teddy is both fascinating and super weird, but deep down I kind of love him. A little part of hopes to find out what his milk fascination is because right now I don’t understand it at all lol, but it definitely adds to his weirdness.

I don’t like Fallon.. I feel like her sections are the same repetitive thing over and over, and she doesn’t bring a lot. I would have much preferred if made Zach had been the one who did all the crazy investigations on Teddy.

As of right now, I’d rate this book 4/5 stars. While I think this book is fantastic, there’s just something missing and maybe Part 3 will give that to me. I have no predications. This book could go in any direction.

ReadAlongWithSue recovering from a stroke★⋆. ࿐࿔ | 56 comments I’m loving the fast snappy short chapters. I tend to read faster like that!

Zachary is quite a placid chap….in some ways which I’m suspicious of. I’m well intrigued by them all…..

Joni (Jonez) (jonezee) | 4 comments part two, like part one, seems to be pretty fast paced. The author seems to end each short chapter in such a way that it keeps you sucked in, which I appreciate. I'm enjoying it so far and I would probably give it a solid 3.75 or 4.0 at this point. I'm not 100 percent sure what's happening in the next part, but I feel like what needs to happen is a round of karma for everyone involved.

Cheyenne (novelinsights) | 8 comments Anyone else confused that Teddy's letter of recommendation for Fallon was written as being addressed to Courtney Ross? Like, I'm assuming that's just a really dumb and unfortunate typo, but I thought we were having a whole weird identity thing for a minute there.

I didn't even notice that! I'm thinking it must be a typo but that is strange...

Grace (gracecdavis) | 8 comments At this point in the book, I predict my rating will be between 3 and 4 stars. I am enjoying the storyline but I want more. I definitely plan to pick up more of Samantha Downing's novels as I really enjoying her writing style and the short chapters are great!

Stavroula | 69 comments I like the pace of the book. Right now it is a 4 star but it has the potential to be come a 5 star, especially if there's a crazy plot twist. I don't like Fallon and her obsession with Teddy but I really enjoy reading Teddy's POV. Overall it's a fun reading.

Stina (stinalyn) | 37 comments I'm enjoying the twists and layers, even when they aren't particularly surprising. I like the fast pace and how the perspective switches show that everyone's prejudices and grudges are feeding the confusion. I also like watching Teddy disintegrate, even though I usually identify with these Gone Girl/Talented Mr. Ripley types.

Right now I'm at a 4 or 4.5 for this book, but it's going to come down to the ending. There are several directions this could still go, and any one of them risks being a huge letdown.
