Wooo the only thing I have to say is that I love the friendship between Helene and Laia and also I know there’s still some Elias in there, Tas has a damn point! I’ll discuss more with you when you post your thoughts because I’m too lazy to write anything more hahaha xx

Part I: Waking
I The Nightbringer
- [ ] You know as I was reading, I just had a thought, what if “lovey” is the Nightbringer?
- [ ] It looks like the Nightbringer became who he was because of the enslavement of his people, what if she is looking for “lovey” because she can’t recognise him? Who he has become?
- [ ] I don’t know, just thinking out loud here
- [ ] Wow that was a creepy way to start! A great start no doubt, sets the scene!

II Laia
- [ ] Damn the Commandant travels really quickly, I envy how well she plans and always seems to be a few steps ahead of Laia

III The Soul Catcher
- [ ] Man I hate not seeing Elias’ name! 😭
- [ ] Well there goes our plan where Laia may trigger some memory of himself. Mauth will just make him forget!
- [ ] Wait I thought Cain died months ago! He should have passed the Waiting Place by now
- [ ] Or perhaps the Nightbringer didn’t kill him? I can’t remember now

IV Laia
- [ ] I am so confused with what Laia is, I need answers now. Why is screaming like that and who are these Jaduna people?
- [ ] Plus why is the Nightbringer in his human form?

V The Soul Catcher
- [ ] Oh so Cain is alive and escaped the jinn
- [ ] Oh man I wish those words are true! Elias need to return and help end the war!

VI The Blood Shrike
- [ ] It is nice to see Laia and Helene working together. Together they are a force to be reckon with

VII Laia
- [ ] Wow! Now we are getting answers! Although I am still quite confused as to who this person is and what is she going to do with Laia now?
- [ ] I just hope she isn’t like Mauth and depends Laia’s humanity! Because if this was a real book I would throw it!

VIII The Soul Catcher
- [ ] Oh my gosh! All three must defeat this war, go back to the beginning? What does that mean? Back to Blackcliff? Who is this mother that watches over them!
- [ ] This is so intense! But I am glad Cain gave him a bit of his memories!

IX The Blood Shrike
- [ ] I love Helene and Laia together, they make a pretty good team
- [ ] But I hate how awkward things are with Harper, at least Laia is trying to help out

X Laia
- [ ] Tas ! He’s back! But poor thing doesn’t know about Elias
- [ ] Oh boy and it looks like they might see Elias again very soon
- [ ] Also how cool that Laia can get her invisibility back and make others invisible too. That’s pretty handy

XI The Soul Catcher
- [ ] Never mind about Lovey being the Nightbringer, I forgot she is referred to as a woman
- [ ] Oh dear, Laia really is hurting deep down and I guess I don’t blame her
- [ ] I just really hope Elias inside is able to break free very soon

XII The Blood Shrike
- [ ] Damn it’s hard to see them all three together and not be their usual self
- [ ] It would be hard to see past Laia’s pain and Helene’s loneliness. I really wish they all make it in the end

XIII Laia
- [ ] Oh good, I am glad they are finally going to work together, perhaps somehow she can break through Mauth and release Elias!
- [ ] Also I love how honest Tas was and made Laia think of the roles were reversed Elias would have fought tooth, nail and all supernatural power to get Laia back
- [ ] I am eager to read more and see where else this will take us!

Hahahah so true! I get like that sometimes.
But yes thank goodness for Tas! He seems to be the only one with any hope left for Elias
I just hope now that Laia is going back, she begins to break down those walls

nope the Nightbringer kept him alive to torture him because he hated him the most. he was the only one kept alive.

same, it was so freaking confusing!! what is inside her??? i also hope that the thing inside her isn't like Mauth... because that would just be too much. i'm hoping that Laia learns to get on with this thing inside her!

Ah yes I remember, since he was the king that enslaved them he made him watch all the other Augurs die and made him suffer

But also that was probably what the Nightbringer was afraid of back in the back when he first betrayed her. He saw something dark in her. Perhaps she is the key to destroy him?

I miss him too! But it is nice to see that the old Elias is in there somewhere, he just needs a little nudge

yeah definitely a possibility! i definitely think the thing inside her will be an ally in this war... fingers crossed it can take care of the djinn, and Nightbringer especially!
