Defined by Love - God will turn your weeping into joy—don’t give up hope.
I’ve learned that his anger lasts for a moment, but his loving favor lasts a lifetime! We may weep through the night, but at daybreak it will turn into shouts of ecstatic joy (Psalm 30:5). Your Lord is defined by love, not anger. Jesus got angry at people who used pretend faith to serve their personal interests. That is not you, and you need to understand this clearly—God is not angry with you. Jesus bought you and now God gladly puts aside his anger in favor of blessing you. He is delighted in you.
God’s thoughts are focused on your good, on how to love on you as his new creation. He is always eager to shower his favor on you—not sometimes but always. Being in God’s favor means you can be assured that you have everything you need to live a fully thankful life. Yes, you will have times of sorrow and weeping, and sometimes those may linger for a while. But even then, there is hope. God’s promise is that you will be rescued, and you will again offer ecstatic praise to the Lord. When your time of sadness comes, remember that you are still in his favor, he is for you, and your joy will come again.

I am hopeful because I belong to my Savior. I am learning to trust him in everything. That is the height of my life, my aim and focus. It is my rescue from sadness or despair. I know he loves me and is constantly blessing me, even in hard times.
Perfect timing! I have been centred around Haggai 2 (the Lord shaking all things) Numbers 13/14 (Joshua and Caleb’s faith) and Joshua 2 & 14 (Rahab and her faith and hope AND response). Her response led to her safety and she married a priest! Faith, hope, response. Thanks for this Steve, it spoke to me 😊
Well said, Steve, a great message for those of us who've walked with the Lord a long time; and for those just starting on their journey. God's love and favor will last a lifetime. God is good, all the time!
