After discovering the ONI, Wade Watts is cautioned by Halliday's message that the ONI could change the nature of human existence. Wade is himself concerned is that the acronym for the OASIS Neural Interface is the Japanese word for "Demon". What possible damage could the wrong person do if they began using the ONI to perhaps influence people's way of thinking?
