Joe's plan for leaving Afghanistan: Withdraw troops, close Bagram air base, close American Embassy, leave Taliban millions in military armaments paid for with U.S. tax dollars. Then require Americans and Afghan support personnel to find their own way to a civilian air strip surrounded by the Taliban with no U.S. troop support. We're reduced to asking the Taliban for permission to get our people out.

Was there a realistic plan or was it a fantasy board game card draw that said "Get out of Afghanistan FREE!" ? ? ?

Debacle? Since the end of July, 70,700 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan. There have been zero American lives lost.

The debacle was our presence there in the first place. There was no reason to have a 20 year occupation, with a trillion dollars spent. Get out, and get home without further loss of American lives.

Did you have a better plan Scout, because honestly I’d love to hear it.

I have a better plan. Evacuate U.S. citizens and Afghan allies before sending troops home and closing Bagram air base and the embassy. Have troops outside airports to screen passengers instead of relying on the Taliban, for heaven's sake. Remove or destroy all armaments so that the Taliban and others can't use them against us.
