Tahira Yasmeen (nerdcoffeeholic) | 39 comments BTW is there a limit on how many chapters we are going to read in a week or we can follow our on pace?

Avni Yes, I started reading.

We can follow our own pace.
But if you want to keep a limit, we can.

message 14: by Avni (new) - rated it 5 stars

Avni @Tahira
Idk, the book says Alicia killed her husband but in her diary she mentioned their relationship sweet, loving.
If Alicia did kill him then why did she do that?
What do you think?

Tahira Yasmeen (nerdcoffeeholic) | 39 comments i suspect max too

I have just 100 pages left like so far mentioned characters have reasons to kill Alicia's husband and her husband was sweet but controlling too

Tahira Yasmeen (nerdcoffeeholic) | 39 comments @sarah @carlee

Carlee Allbritton | 14 comments Has everyone finished reading?

message 28: by Avni (new) - rated it 5 stars

Avni I think so everyone finished.
What are your thoughts about the book?

Carlee Allbritton | 14 comments I thought it was pretty good!

Tahira Yasmeen (nerdcoffeeholic) | 39 comments For a debute this was really good book. i really liked the writing style.
the suspense was nerve wracking. Also if you pay attention closely you can guess the story board in 3rd half of the book. I also liked the way characters were interlinked and made suspects.

i also liked the theme it's based on. how many people are affected in their childhood and treated like nothing. how sometimes parents behavior affect their children.

Carlee Allbritton | 14 comments Throughout the book I seemed to have missed that when he was talking about the situation with his wife it was a flashback, so when the twist happened it completely caught me off guard.

message 32: by Avni (new) - rated it 5 stars

Avni I really loved book. It didn't get boring at all.
@carlee same even I thought it was present till the ending, we get to know it's a flashback.
I loved the twist in the end how Theo revealed he was the stalker and I thought he really killed Gabriel but it was Alicia.

Carlee Allbritton | 14 comments Right, the whole time I thought that Alicia was framed. I was actually surprised that she was the one who killed Gabriel. I wish we could've gotten more info about when he was stalking them, because from Alicias perspective it seems like Theo was stalking her but when he tells his side it sounds like he was stalking Gabriel. I am confused as to why he never said anything to his wife considering he was mad enough to stalk Gabriel and Alicia, tie them up, and play mind games with them.

Tahira Yasmeen (nerdcoffeeholic) | 39 comments I also thought Alicia was framed. that's why suspected others. what gave away was when Theo mention that THE MAN HAD DINNER WITH HIS WIFE etc. so I had thought it seems like something repeated.

what I didn't liked theo not confronting Kathy till the end. and how it ended without him confronting her. also why Kathy never spoke about Gabriel even after his death.

Carlee Allbritton | 14 comments I absolutely agree. Kathy is barely mentioned and never had anything to say considering it was her affair with Gabriel that caused Theos actions which then caused Alicia to kill her husband. I also don't know if I understand why they made her silent. At first because I thought she was framed that she was so traumatized by the events of that night that she stopped speaking. But she just stopped because she didn't feel like it?

message 36: by Avni (new) - rated it 5 stars

Avni Yeah same. I wish Theo had confronted Kathy. I think Kathy was sad that Gabriel died and she didn't even know how he died or of what real reason. Assuming she knew after the Police tells her.

Yes Alicia's reference with Alcestis I didn't really understand. Both had there own reasons to stay silent.

Tahira Yasmeen (nerdcoffeeholic) | 39 comments the reason according to me of the connection between Alicia and Alcestis was made because they both thought that their husbands loved them and they won't ask them to die instead of them. that betrayal led to their silence. they couldn't express themselves through words so they remained silent

Tahira Yasmeen (nerdcoffeeholic) | 39 comments Alicia painted Gabriel as Jesus which showed her intention towards Gabriel. he had already let her down in their marriage and Theo was just a trigger for her kill him

message 39: by Avni (new) - rated it 5 stars

Avni Yeah that can be one of the reason. Yup Alicia really loved Gabriel so Theo was in a way telling that her husband was a cheater.

emily Hey! Are y'all finished with this buddy read?

Sarah (bibliophiliac2709) | 3 comments I’m finished with this book. I agree it was a great novel debut and I was shocked at the end but I enjoyed that it took a turn for the unexpected. Sometimes you just have to read and not think too deeply into what you could be missing - otherwise you’ll never be surprised 😸

Tahira Yasmeen (nerdcoffeeholic) | 39 comments yess we all finished

Tahira Yasmeen (nerdcoffeeholic) | 39 comments i agree with sarah not to think too deeply

(but i can't help it•́ ‿ ,•̀)
