A classic children's story by the author of The Hobbit

Rover should never have bitten the wizard's trousers. His punishment was to be transformed into a toy, and now he is forced to track down the magician so he can be returned to normal. Inspired by the loss of his own child's favourite toy, this charming tale was written by J.R.R. Tolkien long before The Hobbit, yet remained unpublished for more than 70 years. This new paperback edition includes a full introduction and detailed notes about the story.

Second quarter - (view spoiler)[Rover was transformed on the very first page of the story. I didn't expect events to begin so quickly or to carry on at such a quick pace. He went through a few adventures before being abandoned on the beach. (hide spoiler)]

Third quarter - (view spoiler)[It was such fun to venture with the little dog as he attempted to reach the wizard. It was also sad though that he could not enjoy all he saw and did after his vision on the moon of his time with his little boy. (hide spoiler)]

Fourth quarter - (view spoiler)[This was such a sweet little story. As it was aimed towards young readers I felt sure that there would be a happy ending and the dog would regain his real state. (hide spoiler)]
