Aidan | 5 comments A girl is sewing a robe for a big event in her village. She acquires blue thread (possibly from traveling to another village) which is very rare in those days. I read it about 7-10 years ago in high school (possibly a required reading book) and I don’t remember the actual plot but it was a very, very good book.

Aidan | 5 comments That’s the book!! Thank you so much Daisy! I was randomly thinking of The Giver (which I LOVE) and it popped into my head. Now I can read it again!

Daisy (daisyporter) | 1200 comments Excellent! There are two more books in the series, in case you haven't read those....

Aidan | 5 comments I believe I have all four in one huge book but only read two. Definitely need to find it and re-read/read it.

Aidan | 5 comments Have you read anything else similar? Would love to read more books like those.

Daisy (daisyporter) | 1200 comments What did you like best about these two?

Aidan | 5 comments I’m very drawn to post apocalyptic/dystopian books. I find that overcoming struggles and beating odds is interesting. Also fighting against society that has developed due to the world ending. A couple books with a similar vibe that I remember loving are City of Ember and Hunger Games.

Daisy (daisyporter) | 1200 comments It's not really my genre, but there are some Goodreads lists that might have what you're looking for, like YA Dystopia Novels. You can also post in the Suggest Books for Me thread in this very group. Good luck!

Daisy (daisyporter) | 1200 comments @rainbowheart did you intentionally order those titles in order of length?

Daisy (daisyporter) | 1200 comments And Aidan, two classics of the genre that aren't exactly YA but are certainly read by teens are The Handmaid's Tale (of course) and The Gate to Women's Country.
