JP Burns | 1 comments I am a diehard L.E. Modesitt fan. Foundthe Saga of Recluse when I finished the Wheel of Time series years ago and have since read pretty much everything Modesitt has written. Does anyone have recommendations for a book, series, or Author similar to Recluse, Imager, or the Corean Chronicles?

Tony Calder (tcsydney) | 1065 comments Have you tried Lois McMaster Bujold (probably best known for the Vorkosigan Saga) or C.J. Cherryh or Marion Zimmer Bradley?

Jim (jimmaclachlan) | 2369 comments I'm also a fan of Modesitt's books, but I didn't care for Jordan's. Still, I liked some of Brandon Sanderson's books who finished Jordan's WoT series. He has some interesting magic systems.

I prefer shorter books with morally ambiguous characters. Jhereg is the first of Steven Brust's Vlad Taltos series which has some other spin-offs. One trilogy is a different take on the The Three Musketeers.

Tani | 52 comments I would agree with C.J. Cherryh as a recommendation. She's definitely the closest that I can think of.
