I definitely have mixed opinions on this topic. For one thing I believe we are in the great falling away but beyond that Idk. I'll be interested to see what others have to say!

Hi Denali (I love your name by the way!!)!! I agree--how people are losing interest in everything that really matters proves it must be truly the great falling away. I can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts! :) Maybe we can get this group talking again, lol!

See, and that's why I think it is. It's not even just people leaving the church (although 88% of children leave the church at 16 and never come back - terrifying statistic I know), but it's literally people falling to escapism and other awful things. People just don't care anymore. Kids don't want to be in school - they'd rather play video games or do something equally unproductive. And everywhere we look the church itself is getting super apathetic. It makes me really mad!!!

The warning signs are clear according to 2 Timothy - lovers of themselves, proud, unholy, hedonist, denying the truth ... and much more. "Christian leaders" are more and more in bed with politicians advocating political positions instead of the Word of God. That is the real worldwide pandemic.
Church attendance is on the wane (2 Thessalonians 2:3) and people are more than ready to believe the lie instead of the truth because the truth does not fit into what they want to believe. Christians argue among each other about bible interpretation more and more with the rediculous conclusion being "you can't be a Christian if you don't accept such an interpretation". I've looked at a few "Christian" websites and can't believe what I'm reading! Some of these people (Christian or not) are downright nasty. They argue about abortion, the Covid vaccine, political parties, "prosperity Gospel" preachers, mega-churches and the like. Its like the Holy Bible is being used as a launching pad to segregate people instead of introducing them to salvation through Jesus Christ. It is disheartening to say the least.
The immigrant issue appears to be an ongoing one. Whether from poor South American countries, Middle East, Africa, or other continents, I don't believe it will go away and cause more strife. Societal inequities are another issue ... just one of many.
Unfortunately, I believe these trends will continue unabated. I do believe that Christians will be spared from the worst of this through the Rapture, but undoubtedly some will argue that there is no such thing. I, however, choose not to debate that issue. Bible history has taught me that God does not punish the righteous with the wicked, so I rest in that.

The Scriptures give us a long list of signs of the end times:
“Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come." (Matthew 24:4-14)
I believe we've been seeing many of these signs and I believe that Jesus will be returning soon. As for the Rapture, I believe in it whole-heartedly, but I won't debate when it will happen because I feel that's one of those unnecessary details that cause so much strife in the church.

I get it. I understand your anger at the Church. I'm pretty frustrated with many of the things that go on within it. I firmly believe that if the Bible were actually taught, people would have a better understanding on how we, as Church members, are to comport ourselves. I hate to think we're too lazy to read it for ourselves and study it. I guess it's easier to listen to what others say and take in whatever it is they've twisted as truth.
God bless you!
