Marcus Sloan is Smithie’s silent partner and becomes Daisy’s silent benefactor, deciding that she’s the one. We never learn how he got to that point of view. Any ideas?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments That is a part of this story I found creepy. He sees Daisy helping another girl and all of a sudden she's "The One". If he wanted to meet her, I could understand that, but he is paying her way and yet has no interaction with her, strange.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I had the impression that there are a lot of security cameras in and around the club. I think Marcus kept an eye on the activities and gradually found himself pulled toward Daisy. The story is an adult fairy tale. Once I realized that Marcus was a good guy, I liked that he was Daisy's Prince Charming.

Jo Ann (jojog) | 104 comments This is a good example of why I wished there was more from Marcus's POV.

Laura Love/ lust at first sight I guess. This is just how this series is. All the guys fall first and wear the girls down. Also she reminded him of his sister I thought.

I imagined that he’d been watching Daisy for some time before he approached Smithie about her. Would have been nice to know how that evolved.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments Marcus does explain the attraction later. Her easy-going nature and willingness to care for everyone reminded him of his sister. She is the type of woman he always knew he would fall in love with and marry.

That said, Marcus behavior is VERY stalkerish, and if it weren't so clear that he has Daisy's best interests at heart, he would totally be in serious creep territory.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I agree with JoAnn, we needed more of Marcus's POV. Part of the problem with a novella is what needs to be include and what can be left out.
