One of the most universally loved people in show business is Dolly Parton. Dolly always said her look was inspired by the town tramp, but she hopes she is more than that. Peg Bundy liked the good things in life.
I knew who Daisy was as soon as I read that descriptor. She can laugh at herself. She is a kind, bubbly person with a rough past, and now wants to enjoy her designer clothes, nice car, etc. She doesn't give a crap about what people think.

Laura, I also thought her letting a guy pay for her “boob job” went against her nature, too. The coochie reference, especially on audio, was jarring every time she uttered it. It ain’t a Southern term, either.
I really, really admired her being unapologetic about who she was, inside and outside. She owned it and didn’t try to please anyone but herself. And, she really does have a big heart.

While I appreciated Daisy's self-confidence and admired her acceptance of her sense of style, it is just so very different from my own that I found myself cringing at some of her outfits. Her comment about every woman needing a leopard print had me shuddering lol!
@Jonetta - I could not agree more about listening to the "coochie" references. They were very jarring and became annoying after a while. Euphemisms have their place but not this time!

Who was the guy? Her first love? Some random dude?I’m so curious how that came about.
Me, too, Laura. My only guess was him giving her the money for it was the only thing that distinguished him from the other jerks she dated.

Her even getting it done sort of goes against her be yourself philosophy.

I also felt this way. There is no explanation of why she felt the need for it.

Also, I didn't think that the boyfriend gave her a boob job as much as he gave her money for what she wanted and she wanted the boob job.
Sharon wrote: "Her connection to Dolly Parton made me think the boob job was important to the image she wanted to portray. ..."
That’s a great point.
