Jamie Zaccaria I read Egyptian Gothic: Stories From The Land of Pharaohs and Revolutions. I very much enjoyed this collection and would love to read more from the author. The main novella "Egyptian Gothic" was the perfect modern gothic tale that held my interest. The short story "Fire" was a bit confusing at times but still sufficiently creepy. The two radio plays "The Deaths of Women Scorned" and "The Source" were brilliant noir stories.

This was a fantastic way for a foreigner to get a peak into modern Egyptian culture but with all the cool horror/gothic/thriller vibes included!

Dainey | 69 comments I read Beer in the Snooker Club, to a very mixed review.

There were some great themes in there and dichotomies explored in this coming of age tale, but that meant having to put up with the main character, who needed to grow the eff up.
