a. Read any 2 books per month?- 2 points.
b. Read 2 books per month following 1 or more criteria? Add the points as below:-
-1. The books are of same author/genre (both books)- 1 point extra.
-2. The books are read on even/odd dates(both books)- 2 points extra
-3. The books are reread (both books)- 2 points extra
-4. The books are adapted into Tv series/movies (both books)- 3 points extra
-5. The books start with a vowel in title(both books) ( A/An don't count)- 3 points extra
-6. The books are completed on same date(both books): 4 points extra.
-7. The books are buddy read in any group (both books)- 5 points extra.
c. Read more than 2 books per month? Select only 2 to count for the criteria above, and rest can be counted individually, 1 point per book.
So, for example , if you read 4 books in January 2021, out of which 2 books also follow the criteria 1 and 5, then you earn total, 2+1+3=6 points for these 2 books. For the remaining 2, you earn 2 more points, so your monthly score becomes 8.
It's not compulsory for the books to follow any criteria, these are just for extra points.
Along with this, we have 2 specific Monthly Criteria which can be fulfilled to earn a special award, which will be revealed later.
Monthly Themes:-
2 monthly themes have been curated for each month. If you have read a book fitting any theme for a particular month, you can log it in BUT these can't be your usual 2 books, these have to be different.
If you have missed any month and are interested in reading, you can start NOW but log it for the particular month you have missed.
Remember, it's not compulsory to read for these themes, if you do read a book for 1 monthly theme, you get 3 points for it. These can't fit into the criteria.
Only 1 book can be read per theme, hence 2 books per month.

-Goals, Productivity & Positivity: Start your year with a Self-Help book or a motivating book to stick to your resolutions.
-Global Family Day Jan 1: Read a book featuring a family or love of MC towards their family.
February 2021
-Humor: Feel free to laugh this Feb, by picking a Humor book.
-Valentine Day Feb 14: Read a romance.
March 2021
-Travel & Adventure: It's time to read a book which will take you to faraway lands...pick a book featuring more than 2 cities.
-Poetry Day March 21: Read a poetry book.
April 2021
-Controversial & Banned: Read to experiment! Pick a controversial/banned book.
-Autism Awareness Day April 2: Read a book talking about autism.
May 2021
-Inequality & Feminism: Read a book which tackles inequality between men & women or about feminists and their actions.
- Mother’s Day: Read a book featuring a mother as MC.
June 2021
-Award Winners: It's the month to celebrate good books! Pick an award winning book.
-Father's Day: Read a book with a father as MC.
July 2021
-Mental Health & Happiness: Because mental health is important as much as physical health. Pick a book featuring mental health as a priority.
-Nature Conservation Day July 28: Read a book talking about environment /nature and ways to preserve it.
August 2021
-Short Story & Novellas: Time to read light! Pick a short story/novella.
-International Friendship Day: Read a book featuring strong friendship.
September 2021
-Autobiographies & Biographies: Learn from the best! Read an autobiography/biography/memoir.
-World Literacy Day Sep 8: Read a book with a strong emphasis on education.
October 2021
-World Literature: Take a dive into other cultures, countries, and perspectives. Pick a book NOT native to your own country.
-World Teacher’s day Oct 5: Read a book featuring a teacher as MC.
November 2021
-Time Travelling into Future: It's time to dream! Pick a book featuring time travel into future.
-World Student day Nov 17: Read a book with a student as MC.
December 2021
-Classics: Because the year wouldn’t be complete without having read a few classics. Pick any classic that suits your mood.
-International day of abolition of slavery Dec 2 : Read a book tackling slavery/talking about it.
Additionally, if the book you have read has been a BOTM in this group, you get 2 extra points.
