Tenkara Smart | 93 comments I'd be thrilled, Madaline. My book is titled She Named Me Wolf - interested? Here's a bit about it:

Wolf is a loner, growing up in a home with an alcoholic, unpredictable father. The only love he feels comes from his best friend Polly, who happens to be the ghost of a Japanese girl.

As Wolf grows, the ghost helps him cope until ultimately Wolf must make the most significant decision of his life. Only his unique friends, powerful imagination, and recollections of his past life as a samurai warrior will help him choose the right path.

She Named Me Wolf is book one in the series The Many Lives of Wolf and is the first glimpse into one soul's travels through many lifetimes, seeking out the light in the darkness.

“Tenkara has created something very special here…It’s quite unlike anything I have ever read, deftly mixing childhood angst, alcoholism, abuse, and even some supernatural elements.” Author Alex Robins

“For those of you who like surprising, and uplifting endings…be prepared. Smart knocks it out of the proverbial park in the final two paragraphs…She Named Me wolf is a remarkable debut.” Author Claudia Piepenburg

Kathryn Ford (cathy87) | 20 comments Dear Madeline

I have a Young Adult Romance that I self-published in December of 2019. Due to circumstances, I hardly sent it out for review. But I am really trying to remedy that now. The book is short and lighthearted.
Here is the Goodreads link:

Please if you are interested in helping me out by reading and reviewing my book I would really appreciate it.

You can send me a message if you are interested, and we can take it from there.

Gregory Ulseth | 11 comments Hey Madeline,

I self-published a military/Christian dystopian just over a month ago and have been struggling to get reviewers. Let me know if this sounds like something you'd like to read!

Title: We Have a Plan

We Have a Plan
We Have a Plan by Gregory Ulseth

Description:

The mission was to salvage the society we once held dear and eliminate religious and underclass oppression. The plan was to build strength through the subterranean network of outlawed religious institutions and high-tech paramilitary powers to infiltrate and to gather assets along the way. Charlie was one such asset groomed from birth to help these Revolutionaries.

Charlie Prescott, a teenager born into an influential family in early 22nd-century America, is forced to grow up fast when he is thrust into a chaotic war. His life of luxury is turned upside down when he learns about the events of the Great Nuclear War and the regional governments. The underground culture he grew up with becomes his strength as he fights for liberty and freedom on the front lines of the war on the southern border. Along the way, he meets a team of unique individuals who become his new family. One thing is certain, though: Charlie must not give up on any part of his family or his faith

Rene DeFazio (tamaraveitchrenedefazio) | 37 comments Hello Madeline,

We have an exciting Historical Fantasy Book for you to consider reviewing. The Emissary by Tamara Veitch & Rene DeFazio won the Gold Medal for Best Visionary Fiction from Readers Favorites 2019. It is 196 pages with a 60483-word count and is Book 1 of The One Great Year Series. The series has also been optioned for film/television development. The second book in the series The Emerald Tablet won the Bronze Medal. We would like you to consider reviewing our books and can offer any format you prefer. We feel our book is a powerful message of light and goodness but in order to experience the light one must find their way through the dark. We believe you’ll experience only the thrill of the story. Here is the synopsis-
When the world collapses from a Golden Age into one of chaos and strife, mankind’s salvation lies in the hands of eternal Emissaries — guardians chosen to protect the secrets of a sacred, ancient civilization and to guide humanity back to enlightenment even as its darkest hour approaches…
A timeless tale of love reborn through the ages.
Marcus has past life memory, and his soulmate Theron does not, but the two lovers are bound by an eternal and unshakable bond. As a series of catastrophic events nearly destroys their world, the two along with a chosen few become Emissaries destined, over the course of 13,000 years and through many reincarnations, to lead humanity into an era of peace and prosperity as foretold by the Elders of their race. But the forces of evil have taken possession of one man, Helghul, who relentlessly pursues Marcus and Theron through time, determined to destroy them and ruin all hope for salvation.
The Emissary, Book I in The One Great Year Series, tracks Marcus’s epic adventure across centuries of human civilization to present day, where envoys of darkness gather around them threatening to bury the life-giving secrets of Atitala forever.

Good and evil come to blows and the future of mankind hangs in the balance.

“For every soul there is a theme, a path that must be followed, lessons that must be learned…”

Jonathan Lee | 3 comments Hi Madeline,

Based on your most recent review, it would seem you have an interest in science, religion, and philosophy. Accordingly I may have a book that interests you, since it pertains to all three. My debut novel is a SciFi adventure tale that I hope you find both engaging and contemplative. Here's a blurb...

---

The greatest frontier of the unknown lies within...

Rising from the wreckage of a crashed ship, a man explores a world that is at once strange and familiar. When he encounters the inhabitants of that world, he learns some uncomfortable truths--and a few uncomfortable things about himself. When he is faced with choices to make in the present, will he defer to the past? Or will he embrace a new future? Who he was, is, and will become is the journey of a lifetime that he never expected.

Different Vessels is an exploration of the human condition through the lens of a man at odds with his own forgotten past. A tale intended to be both entertaining as it is thought-provoking. Traverse across the mysterious landscape of a man's soul in a SciFi adventure story where Total Recall meets American History X.

If you have any questions feel free to message me here on GR. Thank you for your time and consideration.

S.B. Redstone (sbredstone) | 14 comments Hi Madeline,

I am seeking reviewers for my latest novel—Time Of The Lioness: Internet Apocalypse Book 1. I am offering a free gifted ebook from Amazon for a review. https://amzn.to/3answX5 I can be reached here or at Inkblot19@gmail.com.

This is the premise, which I hope to tantalize you with. For my novel, I researched a multitude of destructive computer viruses, believing I’d create an imaginary one. To my heart-throbbing amazement, this lethal virus had already been developed by international hackers. I was now convinced, along with Internet security experts, an Internet Apocalypse is inevitable.

You’re at work, in school, out shopping, trapped in an elevator, or sky-high on an
amusement park ride, when the power and lights suddenly go out. For a moment, you’re just annoyed, expecting only a momentary problem. Doesn’t happen! Along with the power outage, all means of communication have been severed. The Internet is down and a terrorist’s face gloats. Fear now creeps into your optimism. Hours later, with a world overly dependent on cyberspace, global economies begin to crumble from this irrevocable cyberattack. Totally freaked out, you’ve now become a prisoner of inertia—clueless about how to deal with anarchy, cruelty, and violence. Annie Oakley Frye is a Cyber Warfare Specialist accepted cyberspace had become a cesspool of evil. Annie does not live in a dystopian, fantasy world like Katniss Everdeen, Beatrice Prior, and Lara Croft—she lives among us. Once she discovers this invisible menace is lurking in a million businesses and government agency networks, and it can’t be stopped from obliterating world economies, she sheds her mild-mannered personality and becomes the lioness of her youth to survive. Out of kindness she warns her friends about this approaching cyber nightmare, but they scoff at her insider information and doomsday scenario, believing the government won't let it happen. Once the cyber nightmare launches a surprise arrives at her door!

Hoped To hear from you,

Steve

Debora Dyess | 9 comments Hey there, from the bottom of a very long list of comments! lol
I'm not sure I'd be completely considered a debut novelist, although most of my work has been in ghostwriting, so maybe...
I have a middle-grade zombie adventure book that won't turn your brain to custard (I promise!) and is in need of a few more reviews to make it approachable to readers.
There is no graphic gore due to the target age range, no horrifying-head-hunting, etc. But it is tense, emotional, and action-packed from literally the first page to the last. One beta reader commented, "Wow! YOU really don't give these kids a break, do you!" I took it as a compliment. :)
The zombies appear for the same unknown reason zombies usually appear one sunny day at a summer camp. The real downside for those trying to survive is that the camp is located on an island. Four campers band together to make it to the helicopter pad, a grueling 18 miles from the area of camp they start from. They work together, of course, each with their own distinctive talent and characteristics.
It's just less than 25,000 words and a quick, fun read. Let me know if you'd be interested.
And I was amused by your 'ones of readers' in your post! lol. Loved it.
Blessings and thank you for reaching out to the community.

I'm looking for an honest review of my e-novella SOMEBODY KNOWS SOMETHING, published January 26 by Indie Novella
https://www.indienovella.co.uk/

SOMEBODY tells the gripping story of two strangers drawn to the tragic story of a little girl who went missing 20 years before. One seeks to uncover the truth, the other is desperate to keep it buried.

Arcadian Barrett (a_nathair) | 3 comments Hi, Madeline,

I'm an Afro-indigenous two-spirit writer with my debut novel (first in a trilogy) looking for more reviews.

On my little author website, you can see some art of the characters, a fantasy map, and read up on three of the languages I made up for the world at https://www.thesovereignchronicles.com.

Here's the summary:

Since its inception, the Kingdom of Camoor has been led by warrior Queens who would do anything to keep Camoor on the path towards its destiny, waging wars of conquest to bring civilization to the rest of their continent.

Princess Malia Ausan cares only about two things: her military prowess and her elf girlfriend. The idealistic heir to the throne, she’s fiercely protective, competitive, and loyal. But that fierce loyalty will be questioned when the Queen hands down punishment by sending her out on her Expedition years early and in disgrace. Her Expedition takes her through the newly conquered Nadun as they head to the Uncharted Territory the kingdom is at war with. Under the guidance of the Kingdom’s cruelest general, Malia learns some hard truths about the Kingdom and her own past.

Christian Cura | 8 comments Hi Madeline! I have an urban fantasy that may interest you. The title is In the Midst of Magic, and the word count is 85,000 words. It takes place in a magical, modern-day D.C. where magic is no secret, and magical and non-magical citizens intermingle on every level of society. Except for a nefarious minority, the rogue mystics, the two societies coexist harmoniously. It's up to the enforcers (magical law enforcement) to safeguard ordinary citizens against those abuse their power.

Here is the link to the synopsis: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...

Trigger Warnings: Violence is prevalent throughout the story, and there is an explicit scene between two consenting adults. There are references to bullying and cheating and occasional profanity.

If you are interested, I can provide an ARC in epub, mobi, or pdf format. Thanks!

Hi Madeline

Ok, you sound like exactly the sort of person I want to be reviewing my book, your post definitely made me smile and books don't get that much more unknown than mine.

My book, Little Words of Wisdom, is a cosy mystery with some supernatural elements. If that sounds like something that would interest you it is currently available on Kindle Unlimited, or I am more than happy to send you an ebook directly if you would like.

A Few Simple Words Can Change A Life Forever

For years, widower Steve Lander has attempted to cope with his profound grief by throwing himself into his unusual hobby, making fortune cookies and filling them with the ideas and advice that pop into his head. But when a detective from the Metropolitan police turns up at his door, demanding to know why his fortune cookies keep turning up at crime scenes, Steve is forced to re-evaluate everything he knows about life, death, love, and family.

Pulled from his quiet country life to the bustle and hubbub of London, Steve finds himself embroiled in a peculiar treasure hunt, one that will bring him into contact with friends old and new, put the lives of loved ones and strangers in his hands, and draw him ever closer to the unseen presence that guides his steps.

A self-help book for people who feel stuck and fed up and want to rewrite their lives, creating a future aligned to who they are and what they truly desire so they can start living their best life.

Written in parody/humour style, the book uses characters from Cinderella as ways to see different areas in your life, both good and ‘bad’, and how to understand, change, edit what you like or don’t like about it.

I should warn you that this book does contain colourful, passionate language in places (ok, yes, some swears).

Jane Rozek (goodreadscomjane_catherine_rozek) | 25 comments The book is titled INNOCENCE DERAILED and is written for New Adult and women's coming of age fiction. There is sweet sex mixed in with grand adventures, and seasoned with thought-provoking definitions of faith. (I know...but it works!) A few chapters have Spanish dialogue in scenes in rural Mexico.

"Fifteen-year-old Kate gives her virginity away in glorious romantic innocence. She maps out a perfect love for herself - until the rose-colored glasses have to come off and grown-up trials engulf her. After questioning everything she knows about God and love, Kate contemplates suicide on a foggy cliff late one night but decides to ride the 1970 hippie currents of free love and rebellion instead. When she's pursued by mystical words that pop into her conscience, she must find the courage to follow Spirit where it leads."

Hi Madeline, I would love you to review my new book 'The Villa', if you are able to. It's a short read of only 147 pages. I would describe it as 'a novel of intrigue'. Here is a bit of blurb:

'The Villa - a palatial mansion built by entrepreneur Frank du Maurier - is the setting for a fast-paced tale of intrigue, betrayal and murder involving two successive generations of the same family. Tony Melville, the innocent narrator, finds himself embroiled in a commercial fraud perpetrated by du Maurier, and only narrowly escapes jail. Fifteen years later, following du Maurier's death in an air crash, the nightmare begins again as du Maurier's adult children return to live at The Villa in a strange and unsettling ménage dominated by the enigmatic and Machiavellian Fontini Conti. This time Tony is not just fighting for his freedom - he is fighting for his life.'

I'd be very happy to arrange for a free Kindle copy to be emailed to you if you would be good enough to let me know your email address (or happy to send you a paperback if you are in the UK). Please do let me know if you're interested. Many thanks indeed, Jim Vincent jimavincent@outlook.com

A little about the book: It's a horror story about a mother who just can't let go. When Maggie's daughter Carrie dies from bone cancer, Maggie will do just about anything to get her daughter back. 'The Seance' is about a mother's resilience, but when dark forces turn up at Maggie's new home, Maggie knows that it will either have to be her life or Carrie.

Hi Madeline, are you still looking for books? I have a debut poetry book launching at the end of this month :)

Genre: Poetry/Memoir
Page Count: 154 (15,500 words)

Book Description:

May these words spell I see you, I feel you, to anyone who feels utterly alone on a healing journey.

It’s hard sometimes for others to understand what you’re going through if they haven’t been through it themselves.

breaking open is a journey back to our first home, the body, and to Mother Earth. It’s a collection of poetry and prose from times of deep despair and breaking on a healing journey that sometimes seems unending. It’s also the wildness, joy, gratitude and opening to the waves of humanness that we all ride.

It’s a permission slip to be gentler and more self-loving with ourselves. It’s a light in the dark, when the night feels like it might be too long.

This is available through StoryOrigin (https://storyoriginapp.com/reviewcopi...)

Or I can send you the EPUB/MOBI file :)

HI Madeline,

When I scrolled down your web page, the first words I saw were "fuck off". That's my kind of marketing, so I thought I'd drop you note.

I'm currently screaming into the void (i.e. marketing a self published book) and would appreciate your help. Given you don't charge for reading, I can provide a money back guarantee that my book won't make your brain dribble out of you ears like custard (or ice cream - I really like ice cream) on a hot day.

I’m approaching the end of a self-publishing pilgrimage five years in the making (think Homer Simpson's Odyssey). Two jobs, one manuscript appraisal, a beta read, a copy-edit, twelve revisions and a largely intact marriage later, I’m done (literally, figuratively and if there’s another relevant word ending in ‘ly,’ that too).

The Smallest War will be published on Amazon on 15 August 2022 in ebook and paperback. Its currently in ARC at BookSirens and StoryOrigin.

The Smallest War is unashamedly action-adventure with generous dashes of the legal, political and military thriller genres (with a twist in the latter that would cripple a nipple). Think unrelenting cat-and-mouse, rapid-fire action and characters pushed to their limits.

Hopefully you will request a copy of my book during the ARC period. If not, thank you for your post and that absolutely charming web site! You have unjaded my jaded view of self-publishing.

Regards

Mark
