If you are joining us for our Fall selection, "Once There Were Wolves" we are now at Chapters 7-8.
Inti approaches Aggie who has let the fire go out. Aggie wonders why Inti did not come home last night. Inti tells her that the wolves are now free. There is only one wolf left, after her pack waited for her as long as they could. The team decides to go check on the wolves, following their GPS from the air to retrieve data. Inti finds out that one of the wolves was found shot dead, Red McRae's land. Inti wants Red charged for what he did to the wolf. Number six howls for her lost mate. Her howls are scaring the people who live in the area.
Inti reflects once again about time living with her father and Aggie. Inti is worried for number six who is pregnant. Duncan tells Inti Red is not being charged as he thought the wolf was a stray dog. Inti is angry. They find Six and her babies and try to save them. Inti has regretfully sedated Six, but wants to allow her care for her babies in the wild. Inti has to decide how to help Six feed while she recovers.
Can Inti save Six and her babies? Can six survive without her mate? Will the townspeople learn to share the land with the wolves? Can Inti stop Red McCrae and his determination to kill the wolves? Will Duncan ever understand Inti and her passion for the wolves? Is the attachment to the wolves getting to be emotionally too much for Inti?
