Play Book Tag discussion

This book was not at all what I expected it to be. It tells of the experiences of Indians living in the US and the hardships and cultural differences they face. We follow two sisters – Anju and Linno – one continues to live in India whilst the other wins a scholarship to a school in New York. I enjoyed the start of the book and was really interested in the characters. However, by about half-way through the book the characters seemed to change and the plot seemed to stand still. This book is the debut from this author, and I feel that it held enough promise to read others by her to see is they improve as the author has gained more experience.
