This whole message is why I joined this group! I was tempted to push it off to the side like I do with every group, but then I saw Writing Contest. And I will NEVER pass up a writing contest unless I can't fulfill the rules.

In honor of National Novel Writing Month, we are going to have a writing contest!
Here's how it works: Below, you have a writing prompt, and you must write a story based on that prompt. You have 1 month (all of November) to complete your story. I would suggest using GR writing, because there's a new rule where you can't post links that go anywhere other than Goodreads. If you can make yours a pdf/picture, that would work too.
Prompt: Write a story in 5,000 words or less, containing this piece of dialogue. ⬇
“How could you?” I asked in disbelief. “After everything we’ve been through, I thought you were the one person I could trust. I can’t believe you…”
As you can tell, your story should be in first person, and should have some sort of twist. You can make small changes to the sentence above.
Example:
“How could you do this to me?” I asked in disbelief, unable to take my eyes off her. “After everything we’ve been through, I thought you were the one person I could trust. I can’t believe my own sister told the cops on me!”
It should be similar to the original, though.
We will have a set of judges who will narrow down the stories to two, then we will make an anonymous poll to decide the winner.
You can sign up as an author, or a judge, but not both.
