You know how YA fantasy characters are like the chosen one is automatically great and very powerful, just need control blah blah?

YEah, this one isn't like that. Throughout the series, the MC showed actual progress. Albeit slow, and kinda tested my patience because she's slow, but it was SOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it

I wouldn't say it isn't like any other YA, but the character progress is there for sure and I also did enjoy it :)
(If you do like character progress and non-linear characters I would recommend Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, but I'd guess you already heard of them or even read them. For me personally, especially Kaz and Inej were very unique characters)
