October 2021: The Ultimate Candy Jar Reading Challenge

It’s Halloween month and we thought let’s combine that with our love for reading and voila! Here we are!
In this challenge, all you need to do is read books that fit the prompts of a particular candy and then that candy is yours to collect in your jar. At the end of the challenge, whoever has most candies, is the winner! Additionally, you could be alert for any extra candies you can grab by being on the lookout for the words “candy” or “chocolate” in the book you read. Because every time they are mentioned in your book, you have the chance to score extra!
Also, we’d wish for you to be able to taste as many candies as possible so, you cannot use the same prompt more than 2 times.

- Read a book where the MC is charming and smooth

- Read a book with multiple perspectives
- Read a book where sports play a main part
13. Sour Patch Kids
- Read a book where the MC has a complex personality
- Read a book where kids are also part of the book (either as side characters or MCs)

- Read a book with a lollipop on the cover
- Read a book that features a competition in it
15. Laffy Taffy
- Read a book where music plays an important role
- Read a book that is humorous
16. Bounty
- Read a book set on a tropical island/beach
- Read a book with coconuts or palm trees on the cover
17. Jolly Ranchers
- Read a book that associates with “Western US” (the author could be from there, the book could be set there, or your interpretation)
- Read a book where the MC is hardened because of past experiences
18. Blow Pops
- Read a book that involves fighting or battle
- Read a book featuring a great friend circle
19. Starbursts
- Read a book with a pastel colored cover
- Read a book with star(s) on the cover
20. Hershey’s Kisses
- Read a romance
- Read a book with water/tear drops on the cover

Scoring:
For every prompt you complete, you get 3 points.
For picking the word candy/chocolate in the text:
1 time = 1 point
2 times = 2 points
3 times = 3 points
4 times = 4 points
5 or more times = 5 points

Review: 2 points extra
Page Count Scoring: For every book above 300 pages-
301-400: 2 points
401-500: 3 points
501-600: 4 points
601-700: 5 points
701 and above: 7 points
