Book Club+ MPC discussion

Hi everyone,

If you are joining us for our Fall selection, Once There Were Wolves, we are now at Chapters 13-14. Let us know what you think of the book so far.

Inti is now being questioned by the police about the disappearance of Stuart. She revisits her conversation with Stuart and Lainey to the police. Inti admits she tried to provoke Stuart after all his bad treatment towards her, but especially Lainey. Duncan realizes as well as Inti that she is the prime suspect in this case. Duncan tries to explain to Inti that regardless of how she feels about saving the wolves, the people in the town, need the land to survive and conservationists do not know that struggle. Inti argues that both animals and people can co-exist if they are willing to share and be responsible for the land, not just take and ignore the impact that humans have on the environment.

Inti leaves the police station and returns to Aggie. She explains to Aggie and man has disappeared. There is a search for Stuart. Inti goes to protect her wolves. The body is still not found as the search party does not go near Duncan's home.

Inti reflected when her father disappeared. She left with her sister back to Sydney. Inti went to school and trying to face the blunt talk with her mother about Aggie and life. She also remembered meeting a man at the University who was trying to understand her fascination with wolves. She had spent the night with him and was disturbed that he knew her address when he returned her home and she had never told him where she lived. Inti discovers that this man was Aggie's boyfriend and she was not aware of his identity. Inti apologizes and Aggie is forgiving.

Inti had to go to the police station and be questioned about Stuart's disappearance. Can she continue to hide the truth of Stuart's body? What happens after his body is discovered? Inti is the prime suspect, how much time does she have before her secret is discovered? What will Duncan think? The question still unanswered is who/what killed Stuart?
