Sad Bitches discussion

Talking about this in two parts because it is relatively short.

First half:

Vivienne is heartbroken after finding out that her summer fling, Rhys, is engaged So she drunkenly casts a hex upon him. It seems that the hex may have gone a little too well.

The setup for the rest of the book was quick, they start off with the hex. I, personally, felt that I needed more backstory before the hexing commenced, but that's probably just me.

Rhys:
I gotta be honest he doesn't seem to be close enough to ACOTAR's Rhys for me to be able to think that this is his name. I actually forgot his name and had to look it up. Actually, I kind of feel like the dude doesn't have enough personality for me.

Vivi:
An inexperienced witch that can cast effective hexes, need I say more!

Plot:
I love the hexing and the magical elements. I love the fact that they have to break the hex. All of those parts were good. It gave witchy vibes, Halloween vibes, magic vibes, all the vibes.

Second half:

Plot:
I really loved the idea of hexing an ex, it sounds so fun and magical! I also loved the magical aspects like ghosts, curses, and other witches. I feel like the only thing out of place was the smut. Hear me out... I am not opposed to smut, but damn there was too much and it almost didn't make sense. Like your hiding and all of a sudden, you wanna do it???? It honestly just seemed too quick. There was no build-up in my mind. I was hyped for this book, but it just felt a little disappointing to me. I wanted more magic and more romance. I think that that was the actual problem. There really just wasn't enough romance, it felt closer to lust than love.
