Sarah Lagan | 6 comments The book I decided to read for this book review is "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" written by Jenny Han. This book is a coming-of-age romance story that focuses on a young girl who is dealing with high school drama, sister fights, and boy troubles. The main character in this book is named Lara Jean who lives in Virginia with her father and two sisters. Throughout the book, Lara writes letters about boys she has feelings for to move on but never actually sends them. At the beginning of the book, her younger sister Kitty sends all of her love letters to the boys they were written out for and it results in her and a guy named Peter dating in a fake relationship to try and make his ex jealous. During their fake relationship, both Lara and Peter develop real feelings for each other and deal with fake rumors and drama. Adding on to Lara’s relationship drama, she was also having drama with her sisters. Lara was upset at her younger sister Kitty for sending the letters out while also being in an awkward position with her older sister Margot who thinks that Lara is still in love with her ex-boyfriend. I found this book super interesting and exciting to read because it’s definitely a topic many young women can relate to throughout both high school and college. I found this book very relatable because my sister and I would constantly get in arguments but quickly be back to normal after a few days. It was very realistic showing both sister fights and sister bonds while also managing boy and friend troubles.
