Bonfire Night 5th November on background of fireworks

Remember, remember the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot,
We see no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot

In the UK 5th November is fireworks night/bonfire night/ Guy Fawkes night when we remember an attempt to blow up our Houses of Parliament over 400 years ago. As well as fireworks and bonfires there are often 'Guys' burnt on the bonfires. My local town (Edenbridge) growing up would have a traditional Guy as well as a figure who had been in the news recently (in previous years this has been Boris Johnson, Harvey Weinstein, Donald Trump and Lance Armstrong).

donald trump effigy

Alysa H. | 3842 comments I can’t not join a Guy Fawkes Day challenge, because my birthday is 5 November — and my daughter’s birthday is also 5 November! So although we’re in the U.S., there’s always a lot of “Remember, Remember” quoting going on.

I am in for Damp Squib. Or maybe I will use gift cards / gem coins to extend timeline and go up to a higher level...
