I still don't like reading about philosophy. Good to know.

I ended up not being a huge fan of the writing in this one despite it being Dark Academia and right up my alley. This one seemed to be pretty hit or miss overall.

28. Ms Ice Sandwich- Mieko Kawakami
I didn't dislike this one but I didn't love it either. This one would probably benefit from a deeper dive into the meanings of the MC's actions and thoughts. It was pretty fun to read though.

29. The Invasion- KA Applegate
This was a reread from childhood to see if it was as good as I remembered. I definitely know why Young Me loved this series. Adult me is not as into it, but I'm pleasantly surprised on the reread. Usually I'm disappointed.

30. A Single Shard- Linda Sue Park
I've not read a lot of LSP with this being only the second. I will have to pick up more of her work if she's going to keep knocking it out of the park like this. This book did an amazing job at transporting you back to the time period it takes place in and didn't shy away from tougher topics (homelessness, parental loss, loss of a friend, etc). Fantastic. Kids are smart, they can think about these things and learn from them. The best middle grade books face those topics head on in an appropriate manner instead of shying away from them.

Thank you! I don't know if I'll be able to finish this mountain, but the journey is always worth it!
