My favorite is still Pestilence, but Famine was hilarious to read anyway. Can't wait to read Death and wrap up the series. The end of Famine definitely left me ready to see where the series ends.

2. Medea- Euripides
4/5

When I find myself frustrated with my family, I find that reading a Greek play does well to remind me that family could ALWAYS BE WORSE.

I'm calling it. I'll finish it cause it's for a book club I'm leading, but wow, I wish I could DNF this one. Uninteresting characters. Nothing good can happen to anyone over 40, apparently. Whole town is bleak. Didn't care for the writing. It's not that I don't like depressing books (I loved A Little Life, ffs), but this one certainly didn't make me feel the emotions of the characters. Just made me go, "Oh, yeah? Another bad thing happened? How bout that."

Not my favorite cozy, but enjoyable.

All I could think was that it's a shame Howl is taught so often when there are many others that are just as good and not as overdone. Also, I'm almost certain dude wrote about every guy he slept with. Wow.

6. Beowulf
3/5

I hold my opinion that Beowulf is SUCH a Gary Stu.

Jessica (covered_in_rust) | 11 comments 8. The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue- Mackenzi Lee
4.5/5

Since I'm almost always miss with YA these days, I didn't expect to like this as much as I did. It's nice to have an MC who's actually flawed and Of His Time.

I wanted to love this, but it didn't have enough. Not enough character description. Not enough ending. Not enough substance. This is the kind of book where you're welcomed to make up extras for the characters, but I never felt like it.

10. The Sun Also Rises- Ernest Hemingway
.5/5
Every time I read Hemingway, I remember how much I hate Hemingway, you feel me?
