"So man books...so little time."

Good luck with your 2022 climb!

Sam (aramsamsam) #1 Eisiger Dienstag

Book two in the Frida Klein series. I read book one last year and still enjoy the main character's paths. Will defiitely continue with the series.

Sam (aramsamsam) #2 Convenience Store Woman

Read in one sitting!

Sam (aramsamsam) #3 The Castle of Otranto

DNF
I include this here even though I dnfed it pretty early. It has been on my virtual tbr for ages and is one of the earliest "marked as to read" books here on GR. One of my goals this year is to read some of the oldest books on my GR shelves, so on one hand I'm glad I finally picked this up. But I really should have read this a long time ago, back then I used to be able to enjoy this ott dramatic pompous style and get something out of it.

Sam (aramsamsam) #4 Once Upon a River
I had a lot of fun with this, even though I usually don't particularly enjoy fairy tales.

Sam (aramsamsam) I missed a couple of titles:

#5 Giovannis Zimmer
#6 To Be Taught, If Fortunate
#7 Die Menschheit hat den Verstand verloren
#8 Silo

Sam (aramsamsam) #14 Fire Watch

Loved this!

Sam (aramsamsam) I didn't post for a while, but I have been reading:

#15: Der Graf von Monte Christo: Hilarious but so readable
#16: Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe: Lovely story, lovely words
#17: We Were Liars: I'm super late to the party, but I don't get it anyway. Kind of meh
#18: The Dumb House: Super dark and twisted, fascinating. Yet, the ending was a bit underwhelming.
#19: Lotti, die Uhrmacherin: Finally, my first Ebner-Eschenbach. A bit flowery, but such a great character study.

A couple of the oldest books on my TBR! Only #19 was relatively new. I feel so accomplished :)

Sam (aramsamsam) #20: The Galaxy, and the Ground Within
Weak conclusion to the Wayfarer series.
#21: My Sister, the Serial Killer
It's her sister. She's a serial killer. No surprises there. The only mystery remaining was why the heck the protagonist kept silent about it.
#22: Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Tales of Extraordinary Women
Told for a young audience, but the sheer number of inspiring biographies had a positive impact.

Sam (aramsamsam) #23: Das Phantom der Oper: It's alright. Bit less Poe-ish gothic would have been fine by me though.
#24: Moon Over Soho: Everything I want out of a Peter Grant story.

Sam (aramsamsam) Ah! I did it! And still so many books to read! Luckily, this is indeed a never-ending task. I wouldn't want to run out of things to read and re-read!
