Play Book Tag discussion

This is a semi-autobiographical novel, which is why is seemed to be like a repetition of her memoir. A lot of the events in the two books are the same or very similar, but the setting was different. The premise of an adopted girl living as part of a very tight-knit religious community is very interesting and controversial, but unfortunately, the novel didn’t live up to my hopes, and the little stories that broke up some of the chapters meant that the novel seemed to jump around and bit and was sometimes difficult to follow.

Thank you so much for this review. I read this book a long time ago and was not really satisfied with it - your review reminds me of some of those things. religion - she never fit, etc. Thanks. Good review. peace, janz
