The original Christmas in Vegas is returning for its 10th Anniversary!
Read 10 books where each book fits one each from the wheels of the slot machine: Author's Last Initial, Page Count, Publication Dates. See this spreadsheet for your ranges: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... (Ranges also listed below behind spoiler alert).
You may use an item from each column only one time and there are only 10 choices for each. This is will require the ultimate in your planning prowess, for which you will be amply rewarded!
To get a pay off, read a book that uses one item from each wheel. For example, Case Histories by Kate Atkinson fits A-B, 381-420/781-820 pages, and 1993-2007. Once you have used one of the choices on each wheel, they are no longer available to use for your remaining reads. The challenge is with the progressive removal of items from their wheels; the initial combinations are easy, but further combinations are increasingly difficult.
Of course, as the stakes get higher, so do the point rewards:
15.1 – 1st book claimed – 15 points
15.2 – 2nd book claimed – 20 points
15.3 – 3rd book claimed – 25 points
15.4 – 4th book claimed – 30 points
15.5 – 5th book claimed – 35 points
15.6 – 6th book claimed – 45 points
15.7 – 7th book claimed – 55 points
15.8 – 8th book claimed – 65 points
15.9 – 9th book claimed – 75 points
15.10 – 10th book claimed – 85 points
Hit the jackpot: completion of all 10 tasks is worth 100 points.
Plan your choices carefully; this sub-challenge can only be played once!
