((Make this into an actual conversation with Caesar Flickerman))
Name:
What's your strategy for winning?
Someone special back home?
How do you wanna be remembered--if you do die?

Hio "And next, our District 10 female, Kenna Mac'Tower! At only 12 years old, she's this years YOUNGEST tribute!"
Kenna legs shook under her emerald-green ballgown. She walked onto the stage. A few people cheered. She sat down in the chair across from Caesar.
"H-hey, I'm Kenna, and I'm 12," she started.
Caesar nodded. "Nice to meet you, Kenna. Now what's your strategy for winning?"
Everything about this was so... artificial. The fake concern and interest, the fancy outfits, the bright lights...
Kenna shrugged. "I don't know," she mumbled. "Probably just... hide. I can't really fight." Though the audience laughed, Kenna was being sincere, and was close to tears.
Caesar nodded again "How... fascinating. Do you have anybody special back home?"
'Not really, because you cretins, either directly or inderectly, killed them all,' Kenna thought; however, all she said out loud was, "My dad. And my older sister Kaye."
"Okay. And when *cough* if, I mean if-you die, how do you want to be remembered?"
Kenna knew she would die, and cleary Caesar thought so too. Tears flooding behind her eyes, Kenna imagined standing up and reminding them all of her sister, who died in these twisted games-but of course, nobody remembered Lilly. She was just another lamb sent to the slaughter.
Kenna realized she had to answer. "I want to be remembered as a good person," she lied. "I want to inspire others."
Caesar nodded, and as he said goodbye to Kenna, and the crowd let out more of a sigh of a relief that it was over, instead of a cheer, Kenna ran off the stage, stumbling and sobbing.

((Beautiful!!))

Hio Kenna spied on the interview after her. He seemed... peculiar. And he said similar things to what she wished she could say.

message 5: by Hio (new)

Hio Hunter tapped his foot on the ground. Why was everything taking so LONG? He had training to do, you know.
"Hunter Ovlork, welcome to the stage!" Caesar cried.
Hunter strutted onto the stage amid cheers and applause. He flexed his muscles. winked at the audience, and then composed himself for the interview.
"Hello, my name is Hunter Ovlork, and I'm from District 7," he said confidently.
"Welcome, Hunter," Caesar said, seeming relieved that this interview would perhaps be more normal. "So what's your Hunger Games strategy?"
Hunter shrugged. "Make strong alliances and kill anybody who I come across."
Caesar laughed and Hunter flashed a smile. The audience swooned.
"Anybody waiting at home for you?" Caesar asked?
"My parents. And my sister, though I think she'd prefer me dead." Hunter chuckled. He felt so much more natural in the Capitol than back at home in District 7.
"Not a good sibling relationship?" Caesar clarified.
"We're twins," Hunter said, as way of answer.
"You're funny, kid," Caesar said. "Charismatic. If you win, I'll fear for my job!"
The audience laughed along with Hunter.
"So, if you do die, Hunter, how would you want to be remembered?" Caesar asked.
Hunter smirked. "Why would I make preparations for something that will never happen?"
Caesar chuckled again and patted Hunter on the back. "Give it up for Hunter, everybody!"
Hunter stood up and walked off the stage, but not before blowing a kiss to the crowd.

Hazelle waited patiently, well as patiently as you can get as you wait for the interview that could mean life or death, in the back wings of the stage, she was waiting for her name to be called. She was dressed up with a long and flowy dress that was the color of grain and wheat. The sleeves of the dress are cut and tied up on her forearms and there's a belt type of fabric that wraps around her waist. To top it all off, she's wearing a golden laurel crown on top of her head.
And finally, the moment she had been waiting for came.
Caesar Flickerman's voice filled the large room that hosted the interviews as he said, "Now let's all put our hands together and welcome Hazelle Bellevueé, the female tribute for District 9!" Caesar's voice boomed inside of Hazelle's voice as barely half of the audience either clapped halfheartedly or quietly cheered.
Hazelle didn't blame them, they had already chosen to sit through the interviews to the tributes before her. But things would get interesting enough for them. She was going to play and win.
"Good evening Ms. Hazelle, how has the Capital been treating you?" Caesar asked as soon as she had taken a sit in the rather comfortable chair that stood next to the hosts. Of course, Hazelle knew Caesar and he knew her. They had known each other from her time in the Capital all those years ago. But neither were about to share that secret with the rest of the Capital. Not yet at least.
"Oh, it's been a dream" She started with a soft voice, "It's such a shame it's going to be ending so quickly" She added with a tilt of her head. The crowd shifted in their sits, curious to see what kind of person Hazelle was,, though a over half of the crowd let out soft 'ahhs'. She was more than aware of it, she was ready to give them a show and she was readying to put her acting skills to the test.
"Well! I'm glad you've enjoyed your stay so far" The host started again, "Now tell me, what's your strategy for winning?" Caesar asks as he crosses his legs and puts his head on his hand that laid on his now crossed legs.
"Oh, I can't tell you that! The other tributes with hear" Hazelle giggled and whispered the last part as she covers her mouth. The audience let's out giggles and laughs as well.
"Of course you can, no one will hear you" Caesar says with a slight smile. 'If you say so' she mutters to herself with a slightly cold smile starting to form.
Hazelle raised her voice just slightly so that she could be hear by everyone in the room, "I plan on fighting in the Blood Bath. I am very confident that I will survive it too, while the ones stupid enough to stay will die in cold blood. Not because I actually want to kill them, because the Capital has decided to put literal children into the area to feed their need of structure and leadership." She started, the audience had now fallen silent. You could even hear a pin drop. "News flash, the President doesn't offer leadership to the Districts or the Capital. All the President is, is a tyrant" She finished as she crossed her arms over her chest and leaned back into her chair. 'Mic dropped' she thought with a smug look on her face. The audience was shocked, several people booed at Hazelle. But it was quickly drowned out with multiple people clapping loudly.
"That was quick the speech" Caesar stated, slightly amused, "Shall we move onto the next question?" He asked after the crowd calmed down.
"We shall" Hazelle said as she sat back up and straightened herself.
"Great! Well, I don't have to ask you about how confident you'll be in the arena, as you've clearly just answered that" He took a pause as the audience laughed loudly. "But how about this, do you having anyone special at home in District 9?" Caesar tilted his head as the crowd once again became silent. Wondering whether or not the girl had a lover.
"Well not exactly.." She started, "But, maybe a tribute here has caught my eye" She says as she glancing over at the crowd. And as soon as Hazelle looks over, the audience begins to start quickly talking, because of both curiousness and excitement. After several minutes, the crowd settles down.
"Can you give us a hint of who?" The host asks with a smile.
"Noo that would ruin the secret!" Hazelle protested as she put a finger to her lips. Her action to Caesar, proved that she didn't actually have a lover. But the crowd went crazy.
"And finally Ms. Hazelle, how do you want to be remembered, if you do happen to die during the games?" Caesar asked with a hint of sadness in his voice.
"A fighter" Hazelle answered as the buzzer for the end of her interview beeped. She smirked as the crowd went completely crazy. She got up and bowed to the crowd and smiled at Caesar. "Well, I guess this is the end. Until we meet again" She said dramatically.
"Until we meet again" Caesar muttered before raising his voice, "Wasn't that a interesting interview?" He asked the crowd, who all cheered again, "Give it up to Hazelle Bellevueé, the female tribute for District 9!" He shouted over the crowd as Hazelle stalked of the stage. 'Mission completely' She thought with a smirk.

mel (melthemuse) ((That's good. True! Though I doubt many people will actually read it, I've heard that most people don't normally read things with a great amount of detail))

Acacia Ilyina paced back and forth in the wings. She hated the fact she had to go almost last. She didn't want to go first--no way. But she didn't like the fact she was almost last, either. She spared her district partner barely a glance as she paced, making sure her red hair was flattened and didn't have a whole bunch of wisps floating aimlessly around. Usually, Acacia didn't care. But if she was trying to make a good impression...honestly, she wanted to cry. Leaving her two brothers at home with her horribly abusive father--
"Pay attention!" Her mentor snapped, and Acacia turned and almost glared at her, but crossed her arms and huffed out a breath and glared at the stage instead, at the peoples' backs ahead of her.
But she was anxious and hated everything.
Not long after, she heard Flickerman's voice. "And now, our last lady, please welcome Acacia Ilyina from District 12."
She heard some claps--but certainly by the end of the line people were getting bored, and Acacia in 12 was absolutely not a capital favorite. Sure, she'd shown her skill with a sword and she was pretty impressive, if she did say so herself, but...this was different. Nevertheless, the cue was a cue, so the redhead walked out onto the stage, almost shrinking under the heavy white lights and the number of people. It made her stomach twist; she'd never been a crowd person, always preferring to hide away in the woods with her stick-sword the capital didn't know she had.
Her black gown glistened under the lights, a gown made to show off the coal mining of 12, but it was gorgeous, tailored perfectly, with hints of gold shimmering through when she walked. Her diamond earrings twinkled and the dark eyeshadow over her blue eyes made those eyes pop.
"Ms. Ilyina," Caesar greeted graciously with a smile she found much too excited for all of this nonsense. He held out a hand, and she uncomfortably took it. All these wasted clothes and makeup could feed so many in her hometown.
"Casear," she forced out. "An honor."
"Oh, no, my dear, the honor is all mine...you look lovely tonight, doesn't she?" He asked as he helped her into her seat. She didn't like that--she could help herself into her darn seat. But she'd let him do it so she could charm the capital. Fake smiles, fake laughs, fake pleasantries, all to get sponsors. That's all.
Some of the crowd cheered, and Acacia realized she'd really have to make this work.
"So, tell me, Ms. Ilyina," he began as the crowd quieted. It took all she could do to not either start crying or start glaring. Her skin prickled with all the eyes on her. "What's your strategy for winning?"
"Hmm?" She asked, momentarily distracted. "O-oh, I apologize, Caesar. It's...well, it's a secret. I'm not going to give away my strategy for winning, but rest assured I'm good with some weapons," she assure him with her best charming smile. A sword. Knives. But she wasn't telling anyone that even if they had seen her training score.
"That's all we're getting?"
"Well, I wouldn't be opposed to people sending me weapons in the Games and we can see what I can use and what I can't. How about we make a game out of it?" She asked the crowd and winked, forcing a laugh even as she made a half-joke about getting weapons from sponsors. A few of the stupidly fake capital people let out trills of laughter, and she actually did hope some would take her seriously.
But when that settled. Flickerman had a...slightly displeased loom on his face.
Oops? She thought, and then took a breath. It was probably pretty obvious to many that she felt how she didn't belong here. She wanted to be in the woods, in her pants and worn out hoodie, working on her sword play, not...in a gown and dolled up like a prized...she clenched her fists, taking a deep breath as hatred and rage began to thunder inside her chest. She needed to control herself--hating the capital was valid, but she couldn't let it show as much as she wanted to.
"So, anyone special?" He asked with a wink, and her stomach twisted and she made a face.
"No. Not romantically. But I have two younger brothers...they're precious. Only around eight years old, actually." They brought a genuine smile to her face, and her blue eyes twinkled. "They'll play chase with one another and cuddle when they sleep, and they're all I have left. Our father, he...doesn't care much," she added carefully. "So I practically raise them. I love them to no ends and would kill for them. Which I am fully prepared to do because mark my words, I will do all I cam to get home to then, to escape the idiots who reap children for death games!" She almost screamed, and then clapped a hand over her mouth in horror as she realized what she'd said in a rage.
Calm down. Fake it.
The crowd was shocked into silence, and Acacia began to giggle behind her hand. "I-I'm sorry, I don't mean it...just showing my emotional range as a skill," she trilled with a wink. "I adore the capital." They could kill those brothers if she wasn't careful. Her heart was pounding in her chest. She felt sick--she had to get home.
Flickerman looked even more angry at her now. "Now, Acacia, since you're so...bold...how would you want to be remembered if you die?"
She shook her head. She'd been hoping to endear the crowd to her with her brothers, but now...what if the capital killed them because she'd lashed out? Her temper infamous in 12, and now...she swallowed hard, trying to think about a response. One that wasn't lethal.
Finally, she murmured,
"As someone who stands by what they believe in and who loved her brothers and did what she could to not fail them."
A few people ooh-ed and aww-ed in the crowd, and Flickerman stood up, prompting the redhead to do the same. She did, smoothing out the front of her velvet gown she hated so much. This was all fake and cruel, treating them up like lambs about to be slaughtered.
"Thank you. Ms. Ilyina!"
"Thank you, Caesar. And thank you, everyone." And with that, she gave them a wave and then walked offstage, almost fuming but pretending to smile genuinely the whole time.

Hio Leelah Nyork, the cheapo tribute, whose interview I'm only writing because I'm bored, waited impatiently behind the curtain. She chewed on her nails, which had been specially done for the interview. Ah, well. What were they going to do? Execute her?
Caesar finished up Astrid's interview, the audience clapped, and Leelah walked on before she was called.
"Hi, I'm Leelah Nyork, District 5," she said, before Caesar could say anything. Caesar blinked.
"Well, hello, Leelah. So what're your-"
"Strengths and weaknesses?" Leelah interrupted. "My strength is guessing what people are going to say and do." She let out a quick, forced, laugh, before continuing. "Weaknesses... I'm pretty tough to handle. I'm a toxic bitch."
Caesar nodded unsurely. "And your-"
"Strategy? None." She answered.
Caesar cleared his throat. "Well, this isn't so much an interview as an-"
As if she didn't hear him, Leelah continued, "I've got a dad back home, though I hate his guts, and I've got a boyfriend, who changes every day."
Caesar blinked again. "Did you seriously memorize the questions just so the only voice was yours?"
Leelah ignored him. "And I'm not gonna die. Bye guys, and may hate and strife be with you!" She stood up and jogged off the stage.
