There are so many wonderful authors but I wanted to start with my absolute favorite. I was in my favorite little bookstore, total of 10 shelves that was attached to a small café. Cover to Cover.

I picked up Black Cross and the man ringing me up said that I was going to love it. It was his favorite book. He was so right. Not only was this my first novel by Greg, it was my first WWII fiction. And I was hooked on both.

I went back to Cover to Cover to find another book written by Greg Isles. I found Spandau Phoenix. I chose this one because there was a character I recognized. I didn't know Black Cross was a prequel. I read in the order of the story, not in the order of when they were written. I liked how that worked out.

After that I went on to read many of his other books. What I loved most about him was he was fabulous at writing in multi-genres. Nothing followed a pattern, and that's my style.

Over the years, when ever he had a new book released, I was at the store picking up a new treasure. Soon the multi-genre became a series taking place in his hometown, Natchez, Mississippi. He grew up there and currently still lives in Natchez. He's in a band with Stephen King. The band wrote a memoir, Hard Listening: The Greatest Rock Band Ever (of Authors) Tells All.

Here's a list of his books so far...

Black Cross
Spandau Phoenix
Blood Memory
Dead Sleep
24 hours
Third Degree
True Evil
Mortal Fear
Sleep No More
The Footprints of God

The Penn Cage Series:
The Quiet Game
Turning Angel
The Devil's Punchbowl
Natchez Burning
The Bone Tree
Mississippi Blood
A Private Hell... in progress...
