I got this one from Amazon First Reads and it's been languishing on my Kindle ever since, so this feels like the perfect opportunity to finally read it.

I really enjoyed this one! the system of magic was unique and not hard to understand. I also appreciated how the romance was handled. I'll definitely be getting the next book.

I found Jennifer Weiner's 'Who Do You Love' on my bookshelf, so I'll be reading it in February!

UGH! Now I know why 'Who Do You Love' has been on my bookshelf for years ...... I just can't get into it. I have now started 'What Passes as Love' by Trisha Thomas.

I'm going to read a Kindle book from my TBR list. She'll never tell by Hunter Morgan is set in Albany Beach, Delaware so I can use it for my Literary Escapes challenge too. Delaware seems to be a hard state to find.

I am going to read Redeeming Love, by Francine Rivers. This isn’t my typical read, but there is a movie that just released and I thought it might be fun to read the book then go see the movie.

I’ll be reading Inkspell by Cornelia Funke.

I'm halfway through that one and so far I like it.

I'm hoping to finally read The Searcher considering I've been saying I'll read it for a couple of years now and still haven't. I bought the audio ages ago!

Going to read The Midnight Line by Lee Child. Had time for a couple of other (non-challenge or book club) books in January, so picked back up in the Jack Reacher series. I’m working on getting up to date on that and the Kay Scarpetta (Patricia Cornwell) series. So following up in February with one of each for both Motif and Keyword.

I think the book is largely dismissed for its not-so-attractive cover. I admit I didn't think much of it as well, but the plot does interest me.

A wonderful family drama with "who-done-it" plot. For me, no author shows how the ones we deeply love are the ones who infuriate us most like Liane Moriarty does. A great read!

By the way - if you haven’t checked out the new Reacher series on Prime, do so. Much more like the books than the previous movies. There’s just too much going on to pack all of one of his stories into a 2 hour movie. A series does it much more justice. And of course, this Jack Reacher really LOOKS and ACTS like Jack Reacher from the books. ;)

My comments: Reading about child sexual abuse is really hard, and the author brought out all the feels. It was uncomfortable, sad, angry - everything. So good book overall.

I watched the series Cecil and loved the character portrayal of Reacher. It made me want to read the book - and I'm usually a one or the other type of person.

Challenge Complete: I read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt. Completely different from what I expected and I’m not really happy about that. I think it’s a case where a book gets so hyped up that my expectations are too high.
